Sarah and Alex met during their senior year at Babson College and they instantly became close friends. After graduation, both of them were living in NYC and realized their friendship was much more! They started dating six months after graduation and now, four and a half years later, they tied the knot on their forever!
Their wedding day was full of special touches that felt so right for this super fun couple! Sarah’s family belongs to the Hudson Farm Club, in Andover, NJ, which has gorgeous grounds with a homey and wilderness kind of vibe to it. Hudson Farm was a beautiful backdrop for their day with a massive waterfall, tree-filled forests and cozy cottage-like buildings scattered on the property. The farm created a very different and unique atmosphere for Sarah & Alex’s wedding, which was something that was very important to them!
Every part of their day had meaningful personal details, surrounding a safari kind of theme. Alex and his groomsmen wore these amazing bowties made of actual feathers! Different animal themed elements were incorporated throughout the reception decor. And as a part of their beautiful ceremony they had special readings including “Your Personal Penguin”.
Sarah & Alex exchanged vows in front of a majestic waterfall and alongside all their friends and family. Just as the ceremony came to a close, a short rain storm quickly passed through, starting with just enough time for everyone to gather under the reception tent! A giant stuffed elephant and stuffed penguin formed an entrance to their reception, and they had boxes of animal crackers as favors for their guests! An amazing band welcomed everyone in, and this crowd knew how to celebrate! The evening started off with a spunky father-daughter dance, followed by a bonfire, delicious food (including a mashed potato bar!), and a whole lot of dancing! Not to mention a jaw dropping grand finale to the evening that you’ll see below!
As Sarah’s dad highlighted in his toast, it’s so clear that Sarah and Alex are meant to be. They are truly best friends, and have so much fun together – and that is the key to a happy marriage!
And to top off the evenings celebrations, there was an INCREDIBLE firework show!!!
