The first time I met Maurade and Jason, I immediately felt connected with them and their inspiring story. Our coffee date quickly turned into long meaningful conversations and a couple hours in a coffee shop. They’ve been through so many of life’s ups and downs together, making their relationship so strong and special, and you can just feel that connection when you spend time them.
NYC dwellers themselves, Maurade and Jason took me to some of their favorite places and hidden gems of New York for their engagement session. We started our shoot in Washington Square Park, with the iconic archway and we got lucky with a musician playing a grand piano in the middle of the park! Then, we got to see a bird’s eye view of park from an NYU building! One of my favorite places we went to, was a European-style little cobblestone side street that was so quaint and romantic with it’s picturesque architecture! We then made our way to DUMBO for some photos with a colorful and vibrant painted wall, the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, and the nearby waterfront. It was a full evening of exploring some of the most beautiful little spots I’ve seen in New York!
Their adorable dog Charlie came along for the trip too, and was such a champ (even in the subway)! I had so much fun photographing Maurade and Jason (and of course Charlie, too). I simply adore these two, and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year – it’s going to be incredible!
