Andrea & Bobby’s engagement session was so much fun!! We explored the beach and boardwalk at Asbury Park (picnic basket and furbaby included!), and then headed over to the stunning Deep Cut Gardens in Middletown, not too far away! I loved how Andrea brought the most perfect picnic basket, champagne, and flowers as a prop for their session! : ) It doesn’t get any more romantic than that! And as you may know, I am slightly obsessed with dogs, so it makes my heart so happy when my couples bring their furbabies to their sessions!! Andrea and Bobby’s pup, Abby was the SWEETEST and did such a good job modeling for a few photos! You’ll hear a little more about her when we get to the proposal story! ; ) And speaking of the proposal, just WAIT til you see how stunning and unique Andrea’s engagement ring is! That particular cut of diamond is unique to the jewelry designer, and it’s just mesmerizing!!! These two were such a joy to hang out with and photograph! I’m so excited to share more of their session with you! But first, let’s talk about their story!
I absolutely love the story of how Andrea and Bobby met! It’s super sweet the way Andrea tells it, “We met at a bar after a local St. Patrick’s Parade 🙂 I was meeting up with a coworker/friend, who’s now fiancé works with Bobby. We briefly started chatting at one bar and then the group decided they wanted to change locations. As we were leaving the bar, I realized one of my friends left with my jacket. Bobby quickly noticed I was shivering and took off this class A jacket and said “You look cold.” He swiftly place the jacket over my shoulders and the rest is history! We spent pretty much every minute from that moment forward together! We actually met up the day after the parade bc we both wanted to make sure the other person was as wonderful as we {slightly} drunkenly remembered. That night ended just as perfectly with a kiss in the middle of the side walk with snow falling around us. We were real and so were our feelings for each other.”
Want to hear how Bobby popped the question?! It involves their sweet pup, Abby that I mentioned before! Andrea said, “We decided to take Abby to the Asbury Dog Beach because the weather was beautiful when we woke up. Little did I know Bobby had just picked up my ring the day before! He didn’t have a proposal plan yet but decided within 5 minutes of our drive that it needed to be done that day at the beach. He quickly came up with an excuse of why we needed to go back to our house and grab the ring. He told me he forgot tennis balls for Abby and I took the bait. We spent the morning playing on the beach and later met up with our friends at Yappy Hour. On our way back to the car Bobby suggested we walk the beach instead of the sidewalk. It was golden hour and the skies were working their cotton candy magic! I was distracted by kids toys left in the beach and started cleaning the beach. Bobby thought my actions were nice but I could feel a growing impatience. He went into his bag to grab his hoodie because the temperature started to dip. Little did I know what in the pocket of that hoodie! As he got on one knee, I looked around me repeating “ is this real!?!” My reply also wasn’t your traditional “yes.” It was “ I’ll marry you, baby.” And then within 1 minute of having my ring I dropped in the sand because I tried to snap a picture of Abby with the ring on her nose. Dog mom fail!”
When I asked these two what they love about each other, they said, “Our ability to be our playful selves with each other and share daily responsibilities. Life is just easy & fun together!” Congratulations on your engagement, Andrea & Bobby!! I’m so excited for you two, and so grateful I got to document this special season for you! xoxox
