Their Session: Deep Cut Gardens
Deep Cut Gardens is a favorite location of mine! I love all the beautiful little nooks that make for such gorgeous photo backdrops! I was so excited when Jen reached out about taking her and Rob’s engagement photos here! Their session was an absolute BLAST! These two are totally up for anything, and just so much fun to photograph!!
I am bursting with excitement to share some of my faves from their session, but first I want to share some of Jen & Rob’s love story!
Their Love Story
Jen and Rob typically would spend their (pre-COVID) date nights trying new restaurants near their apartment in NYC, and then watching a movie at home! But these days, since that’s a little harder to do, Rob has been exercising his chef skills and cooking new recipes – which Jen says Rob is really good at! 🙂
These two have such a sweet love story! Let’s dive into where it all began…Fordham University!
How They Met
As Jen tells it, “Rob and I met at Fordham University in the winter of 2015, the night before spring semester classes were starting. My roommates and I decided to go to a bar off-campus (which is a total dive bar, BTW) to celebrate starting the second half of junior year. We met up with a group of friends and Rob – who I didn’t recognize – was there. I asked my friends who he was and they said “That’s Rob…you don’t know him?!” Later on, Rob told me that he asked his friends the same question and all of them were surprised that we never met before. He came up to introduce himself and we talked for hours. He asked for my number and asked me out to dinner a few weeks after, and the rest is history!”
The Proposal
Talk about a dream day! Rob’s proposal is absolutely perfect, and he did such an amazing job surprising Jen, and making their engagement a special celebration! Jen told me, “Rob proposed this past Sunday, July 5th. He told me on Friday that he made a reservation for lunch at The Rum Runner in Sea Bright. When we got there, they gave us a nice private table on their roof overlooking the water. We got a drink and soon after he got down on one knee and proposed! My two friends surprised me and were there to take pictures of the entire moment. When we got back to my parents’ house, a group of my family/friends were to celebrate! It was the perfect day.”
