Meg & Andy’s LBI Barnegat Lighthouse engagement session was SO much fun! They chose this meaningful location, because they got engaged right off shore from the lighthouse. AND one year from now they’ll be exchanging vows and becoming husband and wife with this very same backdrop. 🙂 I was already excited for their session, but I was even more ecstatic when Meg and Andy told me they’d be bringing their pup Murphy! I love it when furbabies get to be a part of all the special things! 🙂 Murphy was an AMAZING model and so good! I can’t wait to share so many of my favorite photos from their session! First you gotta read about their love story. Trust me, it’s a good one!
When I asked Meg and Andy to share one thing they love about each other, they gave the sweetest answers! Meg said she loves, “His enduring patience through some of the most difficult years of my life mean more to me than I could ever put into words.” And Andy said, “I love that meg doesn’t take herself to seriously and embraces my goofiness.”
I love the story of how Meg & Andy met. Meg told me, “My cousin, Rachel, picked me up and brought me over to her now husband/then boyfriend, Frank’s house to hang out. Which turned into us heading to meet up with some of their friends at one of the local bars. When we got there, Andy was the first person Rachel introduced me to. She went on to tell me how he was Frank’s very first friend, before quickly moving down the line to introduce me to the rest of the guys.”
“After taking some time to find out if I was there with anyone (too much time if you’re asking me!), Andy got up from his corner spot at the bar and found his way over to me. The conversation was easy and we were cracking up all night, but I noticed it was starting to get late and he hadn’t made any attempts to get my number.”
“I knew my ride was getting ready to leave, when I was overcome by some out of character, surge of confidence. I caught his eyes with mine and matter-of-factly stuck my hand out towards him. He was clearly confused, so I prompted, “do you want my number or not?” It suddenly clicked, and he began fumbling to hand over his phone. It has been 5 years since that night. He continues to make me brave just as I continue to leave him confused. :)”
“Our pup is a black lab pit mix named Murphy. I have had him since he was 6 weeks old and he actually turns seven this Sunday! Andy quickly adapted to the crazy dog owner life, and now the two of them are inseparable!”
Their proposal story is even sweeter! Meg gave me the inside scoop! She told me, “Andy and I spend a lot of time down the shore, both in Waretown and LBI, and a lot of time out on the water in his 16 ‘ Carolina skiff. We love to fish, crab, clam, float, and go out on our own ‘sunset cruises’ as much as we can! No matter what the adventure, you can be assured that our amazing four-legged furchild is always by our side! This is why our engagement, last November, could not have been more perfect!”
“I had no clue an engagement was happening. One of his good friends had actually just proposed the week prior. I was teasing him about how long he was taking to propose. Little did I know he had this all planned for the following weekend and was trying not to spill the beans. He told me he wanted to do something nice for me because I had been so overwhelmed with school, so he was taking me down the shore to go to one of our favorite restaurants and let Murphy run around on the beach since it was off season.”
“Andrew took me out on one of these ‘sunset cruises’ I know and love– it was just us and our pup, Murphy, out on Barnegat Bay when he pulled out the ring and turned our short cloudy boat ride into my most cherished memory! Having our wedding down the shore was a no-brainer for either of us and getting married in front of the lighthouse, right on the coast of our engagement spot felt perfect!”
Meg & Andy, you guys are the best!!! Thank you so much for having me be a part of this special season. I can’t wait to celebrate your marriage next year at Parker’s Garage! Until then, enjoy every minute of being fiancés! Sending you both (and Murphy) all my love! xoxo
