Their Session: Mindowaskin Park Engagement Session

Kristina & Dan’s Mindowaskin Park engagement session was full of all the special details that make a session feel personal! Although they currently live out of state, they chose Mindowaskin Park for their session as they’re both from NJ and this park is very close to where Dan grew up. They also included adorable their pup, Rufus, in their photos, which made my day! I always love when furbabies get to take part in engagement photos! But perhaps my absolute favorite detail was the inclusion of their fave: a couple of crisp refreshing cans of Diet Coke! Which also happens to be my favorite!! Personality touches like these are so simple but really add to the uniqueness of making your photos feel like YOU!

I’m so grateful I got to spend a gorgeous evening laughing with and photographing these two lovely people! And I can’t wait to share so many of my favorite photos from their session! But first, their love story! 🙂

Their Love Story

When I asked these two to share with me one thing they love about each other, they gave the sweetest answers. Kristina said, “I love that Dan is my absolute best friend in the entire world. We could be watching paint dry and still have a good time. He is incredibly protective of those he is close to and has the unique ability to talk to literally anyone about anything.” Dan said, “I love Kristina’s big heart, how hard she works, and how kind she is.”

How They Met

Kristina gave me the inside scoop on how she and Dan first met! She told me, “I moved to Boston in June 2021. I knew no one, so I was really feeling out the dating apps. Dan and I matched on Bumble, started talking, realized we were both from NJ, and planned a date for later in the week. On November 11, 2021 (I love the date) we met at The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum where they have extended hours on Thursdays!”

“I was nervous because it was crowded and hard to talk. I then asked Dan what he thought the names were of the people we saw in every portrait as well as their backstory. Afterwards we walked to Fenway, and after striking out at a few different places ended up at a bar right next to Fenway Park. We talked for a couple hours before I realized the time and told him I had to go because I work early in the morning. By the end of the weekend we had been on 3 dates.”

The Proposal

I asked Kristina & Dan to share their proposal story, and it was such a special one! They told me, “Back at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. We walked through the museum then Dan proposed in front of the courtyard. Kristina completely blacked out. We walked to Fenway after then went to a nice dinner later in the evening. It was a full-circle moment!”

Kristina & Dan

Kristina & Dan, thank you so much for having me photograph your engagment session! I had the best time with you two (and Rufus, of course)! Enjoy all the exciting things unfolding in this chapter of your love story! Enjoy every minute of this season of being engaged! xoxo
