Their Session: Fall Hoboken Engagement Session

Lindsay & Connor’s fall Hoboken engagement session was so much fun! We had the most beautiful overcast day! The soft light made the blue tones in the skyline pop so beautifully with the warm fall foliage! These two live together in Hoboken, so it was really special to take photos along their frequent walking routes, and document a special season of their love story! I have so many favorite photos to share, but first, their love story!

Their Love Story

I asked Lindsay & Connor to share with me one thing they love about each other. Lindsay said, “I love how Connor can calm me down. It was actually one of the first things my mom noticed about him. I can get so wound up over the littlest things and Connor’s chill demeanor and way of speaking to me keeps me at ease even when my mind is going a million miles a minute.” Connor said, “I love how we have the same thoughts and we complete each other’s thoughts.”

How They Met

Lindsay & Connor first met at a bar in a neighboring town that happened to be having an Irish band that night. Lindsay told me, “I did not have plans to go out that night, I was actually in my pajamas sitting on the couch ready to put on a movie. My parents on the other hand were about to go out on the town lol. They had some friends over at our house before they were going to see this band. My parent’s friends happened to have an extra ticket and kept badgering me to go. Finally I agreed to go (just so they’d stop lol). I got up off the couch, out of my pajamas, and into the car.”

“Once we were at the bar it was pretty packed and the band started playing. I saw a group of guys standing near the bar and decided I needed another drink after spotting Connor. I went straight up to him and asked if he wanted to do a shot with me (which I swear I have never done this before this was extremely out of my comfort zone). He unfortunately said no to the shot but we did get another drink and started chatting.”

“We talked for the rest of the night when my parents decided it was time to go and I didn’t even remember his name or get his number. On the ride home I did actually cry because I was upset I didn’t get any of his info but got over it and went to bed. The next day I woke up and had a facebook friend request from Connor, and as they say the rest was history!”

I just love that story! It feels that these two were meant to be in so many ways!

The Proposal

You’ve got to hear how Connor popped the question! Lindsay gave me the inside scoop! She said, “Connor proposed to me this past July in our favorite place, Long Beach Island. Both of our family’s have been vacationing on LBI for such a long time and when we started dating we started joining each other’s LBI family beach vacations.”

“During my family’s vacation each year we have a “white night” where we all dress up in white, take pictures on the beach, then go out to dinner. This year it just so happened that there was a huuuuge rainstorm for white night day. We spent the day at the beach and towards late afternoon the rain came and wouldn’t stop. I was playing cards with my uncle and pop-pop back at the house after getting ready and had no idea that everyone else was actually panicking. The rain stopped for maybe 5 minutes and my brother and girlfriend said they were going to meet up with her cousin and they’d be back in time to take pictures.”

“About 20 minutes later my brother texted me and asked if we wanted to walk up to the beach because they had “just gotten back”. Connor said we should so we left the house and walked up to the beach. Sean was waiting on the beach, soaking wet, and told me to give him my camera (I left my phone at the house because I was connected to aux lol). We turned the corner and set up right by the dunes were a bunch of candles. We walked over to the spot and Connor got down on one knee and popped the question!”
