One year ago today Amanda and Josh said I do, and I was lucky enough to capture it in photos and be a part of their day. 🙂 (See Amanda & Josh’s wedding here!) In celebration of their first year of marriage, I recently traveled to Orlando to take their anniversary photos.
I had a blast photographing Amanda and Josh! From the always enchanting Spanish Moss and the meaningful details, to the contagious joy and love these two share, this session was perfectly them. For their year one anniversary photos, we revisited Leu Gardens in Orlando. This location was special because we also shot there for their engagement session. 🙂 To symbolize the paper year, we included a paper kite with some beautiful calligraphy on the ribbons done by my insanely talented friend, Leigh of Lovely Scribe Calligraphy. I asked Amanda and Josh a few questions about their marriage, and loved their answers, so I’m sharing a few of them here!
When I asked Josh what makes Amanda a great wife, he replied, “Amanda is the most understanding and selfless person I know. I trust her with everything I am. She loves, and loves hard. She makes doing life together fun. Always trying to make me laugh, or smile, or cringe at how embarrassing we’re both going to be to our kids. I look forward to coming home from work everyday because I know that she is always there, waiting for me to walk through the front door and to me, that is the best part of my day.”
When I asked Amanda to tell me something she loves about be married to Josh, she told me, “I love being Josh’s wife. I love knowing that this is the man I chose to wake up next to for the next seventy years and that I’ll always have a partner in crime for any adventure we embark on.”
Some advice for newlyweds, from Amanda and Josh: “Think about the other before yourself. Be understanding. Compromise; it’s a partnership, not a dictatorship. Communicate. We can’t always read each other’s minds and we’ve found that talking through things is always better than keeping it to ourselves.”
