Jamie & Kyle’s backyard micro-wedding was a DREAM! Coordinated by the very talented Amanda of Copper and Chloe, every little detail was perfectly brought together to create a meaningful and thoughtfully curated wedding design!
One of my favorite details was the custom beverage stations Magnolia Event Rentals created! They made the most stunning personalized beer wall for Kyle with three different beers on tap, and the most gorgeous Aperol Spritz cart for Jamie! Such a fun way to highlight both the bride and groom’s personalities, and share their favorite drinks with their guests!
When Jamie first reached out to me, I asked her to share a little about their vision for their micro-wedding day and she told me, “We both have very small extended families, as both of our parents are no longer with us. Because of this, I am very close with my grandparents. It was actually my grandma’s idea that instead of a traditional wedding, we all go to Italy and make it one big family vacation. With everything going on, we have had to postpone Italy until next year, but of course we still want to officially be husband and wife and we figured our backyard with family and closest friends was the best setting. It is going to be small, around 35 guests and we really just want to keep it intimate and romantic.”
Their wedding was a perfect intimate celebration of their love with their closest family & friends, and it was an honor to be a part of! Before we dive in to all the photos, let me tell you a little more about Jamie & Kyle and their story!
Jamie & Kyle first met five years ago at a dive bar! Jamie was there with a couple of her girlfriends and was completely captivated by the man sitting across from them. Jamie and her friends made the first move by introducing themselves. Jamie said, “We all chatted briefly and the girls decided they wanted to head out. We were sitting in the parking lot about to take off and I know it sounds super cheesy, but something told me I couldn’t leave!! I handed my phone to my friend and asked her to go back inside and ask for Kyle’s phone number. I was so nervous, but she came outside, handed me my phone and said, “he told me to tell you you’re beautiful”. We went on our first date a week later!” Jamie & Kyle have been living together for the past 4 years with Kyle’s two sons Aidan and Carson. Jamie told me, “While it may not be traditional, we love our crazy modern family!”
Want to hear how Kyle popped the question? I love this story! As Jamie tells it, “Every year since we met we’ve gone on a family vacation with the kids and for the last few years we’ve been going to Cape Cod. Last year, I asked my cousin if she’d like to drive up for the last few days of vacation and join us. Little did I know Kyle had enlisted her to go and get the ring from our house once we left and drive it up with her. Once she got there, Carson decided he wanted to be in charge of guarding the ring and hiding it in his room! He actually did such a good job considering he is the worst at keeping secrets! We saved our favorite part for last, which was the day trip to Nantucket. He woke up that morning jumping up and down saying “I’m so excited for today Jamie!”. Of course at the time I thought he just meant for the day trip, but it’s funny to think about him trying so hard to hold the secret in.”
“We arrived in Nantucket and had some lunch first. Funny enough, our waitress had asked us if we had anything special planned for the day. I replied by telling her not really, just taking it easy and enjoying the island. We didn’t have the smoothest start to the day either and laugh at it now, because Kyle must have been so nervous. My cousin, the ring transporter, got a flat tire on her way down. We showed up at the wrong dock to take the ferry, had to sprint to the other one and almost missed it. Then we showed up at the most crowded beach and I was so confused as to why we had to leave and go to another one! We ended up at a beautiful secluded beach and the five of us were all standing by the water finally taking it all in when Kyle grabbed my hand, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. The kids ran and tackled us to the ground in a giant hug.”
That story gives me chills! How sweet is this family? I couldn’t be happier for them!
Congratulations, Jamie & Kyle!!!! You two radiate so much joy, and it was an honor to capture this piece of your love story! Thank you so much for having Ryan and I be a part of your day! Enjoy this newlywed bliss, and soak in every moment! Cheers to a lifetime of love and happiness for your family! xoxo
