Yumi Matsuo is a good friend of mine and talented photographer, who I’m lucky enough to have her second shoot with me! Not only is she an amazing photographer, but she’s also incredibly sweet and wonderful! Needless to say, when Yumi told me she was engaged, asked me to photograph her wedding day, I was over the moon!!!!! 🙂
Yumi met her fiance Eric through their bosses. Her former boss is married to his current boss, and they met on a business trip to London. Yumi was going with her boss to London Fashion Week and Eric was doing R&D with his boss for the Marlton Hotel. They stayed in the same place, and had a whirlwind of a trip (complete with delicious food and wine!) If you ask me, that’s an amazing way to start a relationship with an exciting adventure! 😉
And their proposal was just as incredible! Yumi told me, “I’ve been waiting for this proposal for over a year! He came home with me to Tokyo this past January and proposed to me at a hot spring in Hakone. I didn’t want anything public – so this hot spring in the mountainside (literally in the middle of nowhere) was perfect!” Ahhhh how special is that?!
These two are just as fun together as their story is. I loved spending time with Yumi & Eric exploring Bear Mountain. From the gorgeous lake and rock structures, to the lush woods, and the mountaintop view at sunset, it doesn’t get any more perfect than this session. Yumi & Eric are super adventurous and were totally up for everything – which is always THE BEST – (including trekking into the woods, and dancing on the mountaintop…all the while Yumi was wearing heels – simply put, she is a rock star). Keep on scrolling to see more of this magic!
Congratulations on your engagement, Yumi & Eric!!! The two of you are such a joy, and I love you guys! I’m so happy for you and so honored to get to capture your memories during this exciting season! I cannot wait to celebrate your wedding with you in October!! 🙂 xoxo
