Caroline & David’s Mohonk Mountain House engagement session in New Paltz, NY was absolutely incredible! Mohonk is such a magical place. Literally everywhere you look there’s another scenic spot perfect for photos! Between the mountain top view, gardens, and the architecture of the house, Mohonk Mountain House is such a dreamy place to shoot!
Even better, Mohonk has a special meaning for Caroline & David. They visited Mohonk last August for Caroline’s birthday. They hiked all over and eventually ended up at the Skyptop Tower (which by the way has the most incredible mountaintop view from which you can see six different states!!). David said to Caroline “This would be a great place to propose” then kept walking – she was shocked and confused, and couldn’t believe he said that. When they returned to Mohonk for David’s birthday a few months later they set out exploring new trails and decided to go to Skytop before closing their hike to admire the breathtaking views. Once they reached the top, David said “Wouldn’t this be a great place to propose?”. Caroline told me, “I seriously could not believe he was saying this again and I got upset and turned away. He then turned me around and there he was on one knee and asked the question I had been dreaming about my entire life.”
It was so special that we got to revisit this special place and even climb up to Skytop to the spot where David asked Caroline to be his wife. I had so much fun with these two hiking the gorgeous trails at Mohonk and capturing their authentic and contagious love for each other. Caroline & David are so sweet together and so clearly care deeply about each other. They were such a joy to photograph!
Thank you Caroline & David! I adore you guys!
