Kristin & David’s Fall Morristown engagement session was so much fun! I loved getting to visit some of their favorite spots around town for their session! We started at Loantaka Brook Reservation to capture some of the early fall foliage. Then we headed to Jockey Hollow followed by Stirling Tavern for rooftop drinks! It was a perfect session that fit so well with their love story!
I love that they chose to include Stirling Tavern, since it has a special role in their love story. Their first date was at Stirling Tavern on a Sunday night in August! Kristin told me, “David ordered a watermelon drink, and he sipped his pink, girly beverage with no shame! I knew right away that he was a good one then. Fast forward 2 years later, we coincidentally we’re walking to Stirling Tavern the first time we talked about getting married and continuing to build our life together! It will forever hold a special place in our hearts!”
I can’t wait to share all my favorites from their session, but first, their love story!
I asked Kristin and David to share with me one thing they love about each other. Kristin said she loves that, “David’s incredibly supportive and thoughtful as a life partner. He does everything with care and attention. I’m so grateful for his empathy and his heart!” And David said, “Kristin always makes me feel like I have a home, both in my heart and in how she takes such good care of our household!”
You’ve got to hear how David popped the question! Kristin gave me the inside scoop. She said, “David proposed on March 2, 2024 at Nubuluz, the rooftop restaurant at the Ritz Carlton Nomad, after 2.5yr of dating. Two weeks earlier, on Valentine’s day, David told me he scheduled us for a date to get massages at the Ritz followed by High Tea at their rooftop. I had been raving about their massages ever since the year before when David’s work brought us there, so I figured this was just an extra special Valentine’s Day surprise!”
“That morning, it was pouring rain, but David convinced me the Ritz was fancy enough to bring a nice dress to change into after our massages. (Spoiler, David never actually got a massage!) I enjoyed a nice long relaxing aromatherapy massage and then dressed for tea, while David was putting the final pieces of his plan into place. Afterward, with way too much massage oil in my hair, we went upstairs to the rooftop for tea. The hostess brought us to a table with the best view and two dozen red roses on display. As I sat down, David was immediately on one knee, and accomplished his goal of completely catching me by surprise with the most romantic and unsuspecting moment!”
I asked these two what they’re loving about being engaged. Kristin said, “We’ve always daydreamed about the future we wanted to have together but now we’re really doing it! I love how our daydreams are turning into plans. In general, being engaged has just made me so much more sentimental!” David said, “The outpouring of love, support, and congratulations we have received from family and friends. I also am still daydreaming about the day I get to call Kristin my wife!”
Kristin & David, thank you for such a fun time exploring different corners of Morristown for your engagement session! You guys are a blast to spend time with and such a joy to photograph! I cant wait to do it again for your wedding day at Magnanini Winery! Until then, soak up every second of this season of being fiancés! xoxo
