Their Session: In Home Anniversary Session & Central Park Morris County
Katrien & Greg’s in home anniversary session was a blast! These two are so sweet and so much fun! We started off the session playing with their adorable cats and sipping some espresso in their beautiful home! Cozy outfits + cat socks made the vibe absolutely perfect! I loved capturing this essence of home for them! After our in home portion we went to the nearby Central Park of Morris County for some photos in tall grassy fields during golden hour! I couldn’t dream up a better session or way to celebrate a 5 year marriage anniversary! I can’t wait to share these photos!!! But first, a little piece of their love story!
Their Love Story
When I asked these two to share with me what they love about each other, Katrien said, “I love how easy going and patient Greg is, and how he accepts my cat obsession lol.” Greg said, “I love her compassion for animals and her love and kindness towards others.”
Katrien & Greg first met in November 2010 at a bar in Morristown called Dark Horse. Katrien told me, “I am from South Africa and was spending a year in New Jersey as an Au Pair. As the bar was closing, we were next to each other walking out and started chatting, and then exchanging numbers. We then saw each other almost every weekend for a few weeks when we were out with friends in Morristown, and finally decided that maybe we should hangout when we are not at a bar, or with other friends.”
“We went to the movies, and it was the most awkward date in the history of dates and I was convinced he would never call me again. But, somehow it worked out and here we are, almost 11 years later 🙂 My one year in New Jersey turned into forever, and I never would have imagined still being here if you asked me in 2010!”
Their Wedding
“We got married at city hall in July 2017, and then had our actual wedding party in May 2018. The best part of our wedding day was that it was a brunch wedding, and that we had a donut wall 🙂 And that most of my family from South Africa were able to attend! It was a small, backyard wedding (this was long before backyard weddings were in lol!!), and we got to spend the day with 50 of our closest friends and family! It absolutely poured the entire day so we had to get an emergency tent, and have very few photos of the two of us, but it was still a perfect day.”
