Their Session: In Home Maternity Photos
Thiana and Brendan’s in home maternity photos are some of my all time favorites! I loved getting to photograph these two in their home again, recreating some of their engagement photos! If some of these feel familiar, THIS is probably why. (10/10 recommend reading their engagement session blog for the sweetest proposal story ever) 😉 Seeing the changes over time while keeping this environment constant was such a cool concept, and as soon as Thiana pitched the idea, I was GAME! We are fully planning on making this a trilogy with a part three including their new family member soon! Before I dive into all my favorites, I’m gonna share a little piece of their love story!
Their Love Story
When I asked Thiana & Brendan to share with me one thing they love about each other, Thiana said, “His big heart and endless patience. His love for me and his family is one hundred percent truly unconditional. Without anything in return.” Brendan said, “Thiana’s the most one-of-a-kind, wears her heart on her sleeve-kinda person I know.”
Thiana told me a little more about their love story. “We first laid eyes on each other while I was sitting on the front porch of his apartment . He was just coming home from visiting his grandma. We had mutual friends who were dating at the time which led us to cross paths on occasion but never really exchanged words one on one. Looking back on it now, we realized that always being in a group setting didn’t highlight the qualities that would draw us to one another.
At first I thought he was quiet and reserved while he thought of me as overly sarcastic. It was only when we had our first opportunity to be alone that our true selves revealed themselves. Right away we both felt very safe and comfortable allowing for me to listen rather than seize opportunities to make witty remarks. All the while he was able to open up and reveal his dreams and aspirations. Ever since, we like to coin ourselves as an opposites attract romance but really it’s a balance of yin and yang, we bring out the best in each other.”
Thiana & Brendan celebrated their wedding in Costa Rica at Hotel Capitan Suizo in June of 2021. Ryan and I were lucky enough to photograph that special milestone, too. What a dream day that was! Reliving all the memories on the blog here! And now they just welcomed the newest member of their family!
