Their Session: Montclair NJ Engagement Session
Wynn & James springtime Montclair NJ engagement session was so much fun! These two are so sweet together and a blast to photograph! We started our shoot at Java Love for some coffee of course. Then we explored the cute streets around Montclair! I have so many favorites from their session that I’m excited to share! But first, you know I gotta dive into a little bit of their love story! 🙂
Their Love Story
When I asked Wynn & James to share with me one thing they love about each other, they gave the sweetest answers. Wynn said, “I love how James is so kind and not afraid to be emotional. He always knows what I’m thinking or feeling in situations.” James said, “I love how thoughtful Wynn is, not only about me, but our families, friends, and kitties. I love how she challenges herself constantly, through education or other things.”
How They Met
Wynn and James first connected via a dating app a few years ago. Wynn told me, “Yes! We ‘swiped right’ on each other almost 5 years ago now. Time flies!”
“From our conversations, we had both been using dating apps for a little bit, but we’re the only people we ACTUALLY went on a date with.”
“His bio said something about margaritas and that’s exactly what we did on our first date. It’s definitely going to be our signature drink at our wedding!”
The Proposal
I love Wynn & James’s proposal story! Wynn tells it best. She said, “I am a very introverted person and James counteracts that for sure. He definitely knew that I didn’t want anything public or grand and he hit the nail on the head with this.”
“He proposed to me on October 11th, which was a chilly/rainy day. He went to the grocery store that morning and came back with brunch food and orange juice to make mimosas! He also had a bouquet of flowers in hand and I actually said to him ‘what are you going to propose or something?!'”
“He was making brunch for us and was so nervous he burned his hand and didn’t propose that morning, which is understandable.”
“We decided to have a day and went to a new place. When we came home, he ran up the apartment stairs, but he always does, so I didn’t think anything of it. When I opened the door, he was on his knee.”
“I was definitely surprised because after brunch I figured that it wasn’t the day, so he truly surprised me!”
