Their Session: Mount Baldy Anniversary Session
This Mount Baldy, California couple’s session was one for the books! Tara & Jason are such a cute couple and so sweet together. I had the best time with these two! And not to mention, Mount Baldy is such a beautiful backdrop for a photo session. The mountains, the glowy light, and towering evergreens…it’s so picturesque and absolutely perfect! I’m so excited to share some of my favorites from this session on the blog! But first, I gotta share a little bit of Tara & Jason’s love story! 🙂
Their Love Story
I asked Tara & Jason to share with me one thing they love about each other and they gave the sweetest answers. Tara told me, “I love that Jason doesn’t give up without a fight. Throughout our time as a couple, I have come to understand just how determined and passionate he is at everything he does. Oh, and he has a beautiful head of hair.” And Jason said, “I love that Tara is compassionate and selfless, always willing to lend a hand. She is courageous, daring, and always up for new adventures and experiences.”
These two love to spend date nights enjoying some food and good cocktails! Tara said, “I would say that 90% of the time, we end up somewhere near the ocean…trying to catch the sunset.”
How They Met
Tara & Jason first connected on a dating app, and once they met in person Tara knew Jason was someone special. She told me the inside scoop, “It’s funny because I didn’t really know what he was going to look like because he had ONE picture of his face, but he wasn’t the only one in the photo.. lol. Anyway. We talked for a couple weeks through text & phone calls before we decided to randomly get sushi on a Thursday night. To be honest, after that date I knew he was going to be someone special in my life.”
The Proposal
You’ve gotta hear how Jason popped the question! It’s so sweet! Tara tells it best. She said, “Jason proposed on the sand at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura. We went for a beach hike/picnic. It was just the two of us. He didn’t talk much the entire morning, and even while we were walking he kept a little distance from me lol. After a while of walking and snapping random pictures of the ocean, he put down a blanket, got out the snacks and when I turned around to sit down he was on one knee and had his mother’s first wedding ring in his hands. To be honest, I don’t remember anything he said ..but of course, I started bawling! My mascara had literally taken over my face, Jason even has a picture of it! Afterwards, we celebrated at Cafe Nouveau…and on our way home Jason accidentally ran a red light and got a ticket in my car! Haha!”
Their Wedding Day
Their Southern California wedding sounds like a dream! Tara told me, “Our wedding was at The Casino San Clemente. It was the ONLY venue we toured and we booked it immediately because..well it was perfect. It was an intimate gathering with 72 of our closest family and friends. Our decor was minimal. Our florals were all white, minus the anemones and Eucalyptus garlands.. the groomsmen wore classic black suits, bridesmaids wore a champagne/nude dress with lace detailing. Jason wore a navy blue suit…and I wore an Ivory & lace dress. When planning our wedding, we didn’t really stick with a theme. We just knew we wanted it to be minimal and romantic. We had a really great team of vendors and to us, our day was absolute perfection and we had the best time celebrating our union!”
