Rain can’t stop the best day of a couple’s lives – that’s why I pack my car full with gear and my cute bubble umbrellas that always seem to come in handy in New Jersey’s unpredictable weather! Betsy and Matt promised each other forever at the gorgeous Orange Lawn Tennis Club, and this entire day was nothing short of simple, elegant perfection! The details were just so perfectly them from the lavender accents to the hand crafted centerpieces made by Betsy’s mom (major mom points!!) These troopers braved the rain for some gorgeous portrait time out in the rain with their umbrellas and under a covered porch that gave us a lot of variety to shoot under!
If you remember these two from their engagement session, you’ll know that I got connected with Betsy through an incredibly talented makeup artist and good friend, Samantha Linn! She did Betsy’s makeup for both their engagement session and wedding day, and she created a gorgeous, natural bridal glow! I also got to work with my favorite man behind the DJ booth – Farid of Baseline Productions! He is seriously the best at getting the crowd onto the dance floor (I may have made my special guest appearance out there for “Shout,” my all-time favorite song)!
These two lovebirds met in high school and have been dating since they were 17 years old! Young love is the sweetest, especially as it grows older. <3 They live in Jersey City, and I got to visit their stomping grounds for their engagement session, which was so fun to see where their love story takes place! Something I really love about them is how genuine and kind they are with each other; they’re perfectly comfortable and totally feel like the best match and compliment to one another. Matt popped the big question one evening after dinner, with a ring made with a stone that came from Matt’s grandmother. I love how simple and sentimental that special moment was for both of them.
Betsy and Matt, thank you both for being the sweetest souls and for welcoming me into your wedding day with open arms. I am so grateful to have been a part of this next adventure in your lives. I wish you both all the happiness in the world! xoxo
