Meet Julia and Scott: two of the sweetest and happiest souls ever who know how to light up a room when they walk in! Julia and Scott’s Park Chateau wedding day was nothing short of incredible! I loved being back at this gorgeous venue for their wedding day and seeing the gardens in full springtime bloom! Every part of the day was full of so much joy and an overwhelming sense of love – Julia’s beaming smile brightened every part of the day, seriously she was GLOWING with radiant happiness. I first got connected with to these two through Steph and Justin of ToneMedia, who, might I add, is seriously my favorite video team on the planet!! I can’t say enough about how amazing and talented they are and how much of a joy they are to work with time and time again #dreamteam!
Some of my favorite details of the day included their gorgeous invitations with a laser-cut lace detailing that were hand-assembled by Julia and her friends! The perfume Julia had specially picked out for her wedding day came in the most beautiful bottle (and smelled amazing!). The ring bearer, Luke, is a good friend of the bride’s, which made it extra special and fun to have him walk down the aisle and play a big part in their day. I loved the bridesmaids’ gorgeous blush pink dresses, and the emotional ceremony that had us all tearing up and beaming with joy. And just another shout out to ToneMedia for being the best – they brought these fun confetti poppers to use during portraits that were such a unique and cute addition to the day!
Couples, take note! The timeline we created for Julia and Scott’s wedding day allowed for a ton of portrait time, which was AMAZING and allowed us to explore all over the grounds at Park Chateau to get so many great portraits in a variety of locations! Portrait time is often one of the very few times you will actually get to be alone together with the love of your life on your big day, so I was grateful to we had this time for Julia & Scott to spend together, soaking in being MARRIED on their wedding day!
Let me tell you a little more about these two and their story! Julia’s best friend is also Scott’s sister, so she met her now husband, through one of the closest people in her life! Scott and Julia have known each other since the elementary school days and through the dreaded Catholic school uniforms! His sister and Julia became best friends in high school but had known each other for the majority of their lives before that. So, the more Julia and bff Kristen hung out, the more Scott would come around. Eventually, he had the courage to ask her out on a date in November of 2012. She remembers that the date was far from romantic and involved a spontaneous night in Atlantic City where they celebrated a mutual friend’s birthday. But a connection had been sparked that night that neither of them could get rid of, and she says, “the rest is history!”
When I asked Julia about how Scott proposed, she told me the whole story! Christmas Eve of 2016 “was the most memorable, most amazing night of my life. Both his family and mine gather together for Christmas, so this is always a special, fun time for our families. Every Christmas Eve we exchange presents. He had been joking with me that all I was getting for Christmas this year were fuzzy socks. When I opened his present to me, which had been sitting wrapped, under his parents Christmas tree for 2 weeks (2 weeks!!!), I opened to see three of the cutest pairs of fuzzy socks I’ve ever seen. Underneath the socks was a little box. He removed the box, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of both our families, all hysterically crying in the background. I, naturally became hysterical also, but I found myself becoming flooded with so much love from within and everyone else.” What a perfect holiday dream proposal!
Julia and Scott, you guys, and your wedding day was unbelievably perfect, and I am so fortunate to have been a part of this journey with you! Thank you for sharing your love story with me, and for being the most magical bride and groom I could ask for!! You two deserve all the happiness in the world! Love you <3
