Rock Island Lake Club Wedding, Sparta, NJ | Pam & Michael

Ooh, Rock Island Lake Club is always such a dream to photograph at! Pam and Michael’s wedding day at this beautiful venue did not disappoint! I love shooting at Rock Island not only for the stunning lake views, but for the staff who is always so attentive, kind, and on top of everything!

I just have to give a little shout out to Pam who did a full dress change (yes – TWO wedding gowns!) for the reception, which was a surprise to everyone. Michael, especially, because they did a second first look and Michael’s reaction was so perfect. Pam and Michael have been prepping for their first dance with dance classes and lots of practice, so he had been worried about how they’d do their dance with Pam’s first dress with its full skirt. His concern turned to immediate relief when he saw dress number two. They had an amazing choreographed first dance that was super impressive, they seriously crushed it.

There were so many special details from their day! I loved the Bonsai tree that Michael gifted to Pam with a little rock that Pam always keeps on her dresser that he had given her on one of their hikes. Michael also made a groom cake (so cute!) and used the cake topper that belonged to his late grandmother who he was very close with. It was  such a sweet and thoughtful way to honor her!

Pam was SO prepared with all of her gorgeous details set out for me in a getting ready room with gorgeous window light flooding in. We had an adorable little buddy who hung out with us for details time! He loved having his picture taken and making funny faces in the mirror – such a cute ring bearer!

We had so much portrait time, which is always absolutely AMAZING! We got to do portraits all over Rock Island’s gorgeous grounds and get so much variety from the swing in the woods to the hill looking over the lake, all before cocktail hour even started. We also got to hop out onto the dock for a few golden hour portraits (in Pam’s new dress – couldn’t forget to document the dress change)!

Pam & Michael are a perfect compliment to each other. They’re seriously so fun to hang out with and SO funny, I was honestly cracking up the entire day with them. These two cuties met on Tinder and went on their first date at Chipotle (oh yes please!) Michael couldn’t get enough of her, so he kept reaching out and here they are 3+ years in and tying the knot! <3

They got engaged in Vermont at around 11 pm in front of a very dark wooden bridge. They had stopped in front of it, because Michael wanted to take night pictures of the sky, and then he popped the question on such a magical night! You can read more about these two and their love story from their adorable engagement session!

Pam & Michael, you two are a match made in heaven. I know you two are going to bring each other endless joy and laughter for many years to come. I absolutely loved your wedding day and I’m honored to capture this time in your lives! Love you xoxo!!
