Their Wedding Day: Saint Clements Castle & Marina Wedding

Natalie & Aaron’s Saint Clements Castle & Marina wedding was the most beautiful summer day! When Natalie first reached out to me about her wedding she told me about her vision for the day. She said, “I want a very classic style. Our venue is an old castle on the water. I want it to have a very royal feeling, almost Cinderella- like. I think black bridesmaids dresses and black grooms tuxedos. Lots of white flowers and gold accents.” I’d say her vision came to fruition perfectly!

Some of my favorite parts of their day included the ways they incorporated their sweet pug, Daisy, into the celebrations. She had the cutest little stroller for the ceremony and even had her own detail flat lays – my heart! The hydrangeas were in full bloom, which made for the most incredibly gorgeous portraits! They were also featured in the beautiful live ceremony painting by the insanely talented Tash Paints! And to top it all off the dance floor was packed and full of energy all night! I can’t wait to share all these photos, but first a little of Natalie & Aaron’s love story!

Their Love Story

When I asked Natalie and Aaron to share with me one thing they love about each other, they gave the sweetest answers. Natalie said, “I love that Aarons is always able to keep a positive mindset to keep moving forward even when the road gets rocky. His ability not to sweat the small stuff.” Aaron said, “I love Natalie’s ability to take care of her loved ones, she is always thinking ahead to ensure everyone is taken care of and is incredibly thoughtful (just needs to make sure she’s included on her own list!!)”

How They Met

These two have such a good love story! Natalie told me how they first met, “We’re going to be the Clarks! Super excited. “We met in Tampa Florida in 2017 at work. Aaron is originally from CT, moved down there for grad school and stayed there after getting a job. I’m originally from NY and moved down after college because I got a good job offer. We grew up 3 hours apart but happened to meet in Tampa. We were both assigned to be on the same team and would see each other here and there.”

“Aaron asked me out on a date on Jan 3, 2018 and we immediately became obsessed with each other! Unfortunately, Aaron had a planned work transfer to Boston in June of 2018 and I knew I always wanted to move back to NYC. Aaron ended up moving and we did long distance from Florida for a month until I decided to move back to NYC in August. We did long distance from NYC to Boston for a year until we decided to move in together.”

“I moved to Boston in Aug 2019 and soon after, Aaron got me my dream pug Daisy in Oct 2019. She’s now the main character of the house. We bought a house together in Nov of 2020 in Groton, CT during the pandemic and have been here ever since! Aaron and I actually have worked together at the same company in the same job roles together the past 5 years so we pretty much spend 24/7 together haha! We’re both big 4 accountants so our work life takes up most of our time but looking forward to taking the time to celebrate us. Also, Daisy is our obsession and priority! She will be in the wedding.”

The Proposal

You’ve got to hear this proposal story! Natalie gave me all the details. She said, “Aaron proposed March 21, 2022 in Kauai, Hawaii on his 30th birthday. We flew from Boston to Hawaii for 13 hours and had the most incredibly smooth flight experience. Because we were traveling west it was a 30 hour day for us which was kinda cool because it was Aaron’s 30th. I had booked a reservation at this restaurant called tied pools not realizing that was me picking where Aaron was going to propose.”

“After our first drink arrived, Aaron got up and started to walk around the table and got down on one knee and proposed to me on my side of the table. The whole restaurant cheered and Aaron had hired a photographer and videographer for me to have all the memories. I love photos to look back on to relive my favorite moments in life. It was a magical perfect day. We also got upgraded to a suite at our hotel that was like 3x the price of our initial room! Talk about luck.” I couldn’t dream up a more perfect way to kick off a vacation, or a more special way to celebrate a birthday!
