Nicole & Jacob’s spring garden engagement session was so dreamy!! I’ve shot at Cross Estate Gardens many times, but have never been lucky enough to catch the wisteria in bloom. That is, until Nicole & Jacob’s session! I was so excited to see the whimsical purple flowers dripping from the covered walkway! I had THE best time with these two! Nicole and Jacob are so sweet together, and were so up for any and everything I threw their way. I can’t get over these photos; I’m obsessed! I can’t wait to share my many many favorites…but first, a bit of their love story!
I asked Nicole & Jacob to share with me one thing they love about each other. They gave the sweetest answers. Nicole said, “I love how Jacob lets me be my authentic quirky self. He is extremely thoughtful, patient, and go with the flow.” Jacob said, “She has an unlimited amount of energy and a “go-get-it” attitude!”
Nicole & Jacob first met through mutual friends. As Nicole tells it, “Jacob was freshman year college roommates with one of my close childhood friends and over the next several years he got to know many more friends in our circle. While we’re convinced we probably crossed paths and met before, we “officially” met at the birthday party of Jacob’s college roommate and my childhood friend in 2019! We were at City Vineyard in NYC and got to talking at a bar. One thing led to another and we ended up going out on our first date at Aria Wine Bar in the West Village and it’s all history from there!”
You’ve got to hear their proposal story – it’s a good one! Nicole gave me the inside scoop! She said, “It was a COMPLETE surprise! Jacob proposed in the middle of one of our favorite spots in Central Park on the morning of what I thought was going to be a busy day with friends. Jacob even had a photographer hiding snapping pictures of the moment itself and then we had a little photoshoot throughout Central Park to get some more pictures. The rest of the day included lunch at Tavern on the Green, facetiming friends and family, and then dinner at Union Square Cafe. The next day was brunch at Loring Place with my family and his (who had flown in from Boston), followed by a surprise happy hour with a bunch of our friends. It was indeed a weekend full of surprises and it was perfect!”
Nicole & Jacob, thank you so much for having me as a part of this incredibly special season! I couldn’t be happier for you two, and so excited to celebrate with you on your wedding day at Clarks Landing! Until then, enjoy every second of this season of being engaged!! Sending you both the biggest hug! xoxo
