Sabrina & Edward’s springtime garden engagement session was such a joy! We planned their session to take place during the week leading up to their wedding since they’d be flying into town from out of the country for the big day! I loved getting to spend some time with them soaking in all the excitement before their Park Chateau wedding!
Cross Estate Gardens was showing off with all the spring blooms just in time for their session! The flowering trees and grassy fields were the perfect romantic backdrop to document this season for Sabrina & Ed. These two are so sweet together, and their natural affection for each other makes them extra photogenic! Their session feels like a fairytale to me, and I have so many favorite images! Before I dive into all the pictures, I want to share a bit of their love story!
I asked Sabrina & Edward to share with me one thing they love about each other. Sabrina said, “I love how dependable Ed is. Whenever we are in any stressful situation, I know that I can turn to him for help. He always stays so calm and will always be able to figure out a solution.” Edward said, “I love how cheerful Sabrina is and how she gets along really well with other people. It’s something I really admire about her.”
These two first met in the first week of school during Ed’s freshman year and Sabrina’s sophomore year of college. Sabrina said, “We lived in the same dorm so Ed joined our friend group. I had a crush on him for almost the entire first semester we knew each other. It wasn’t until the start of the spring semester that I decided I wanted to get closer to him and try pursuing something. Before then, we had only hung out in group settings. But in the spring semester I started dropping by his room all the time to say hi and chat until he eventually got the hint that I liked him.” Ed added, “If you get visited by someone everyday eventually you realize they probably like you. And then soon enough you might realize you like them, too.”
I love Sabrina & Ed’s proposal story. 🙂 Sabrina told me, “We decided to get married after discussing it together a lot, and I asked to pick out my own ring. Once the ring arrived, Edward kept it with him so that the proposal itself would be a surprise to me. It happened during a weekend trip we made to the Bay Area in California to visit some friends. I thought that we would be staying in a normal hotel, but as soon as we arrived I was blown away by how magical and romantic it was! It was a gorgeous rustic oceanside house with a balcony overlooking the water. He proposed on the balcony just after sunset with only the two of us there, and we got dinner at a nearby restaurant afterward. It was my perfect idea of a proposal :)” Edward added, “Actually, I booked that room because I just thought it’d be a nice place to stay. But once we were there it seemed like the right time and place.”
Sabrina & Edward, it was such a treat to spend the evening exploring the gardens at Cross Estate and photographing your love! I’m so grateful for you guys and truly honored to get to be a part of this special season in your love story! Sending the biggest hug! xoxo
