Summer Field Engagement Session | Emma & Nick

Their Session: Summer Field Engagement Session, Morristown, NJ

Emma & Nick’s summer field engagement session in Morristown, NJ was pure magic! We had the most gorgeous golden hour light at Central Park of Morris County! The way these grassy fields grow in over the summer time is so stunning – one of my favorite locations to shoot at! These two are just so fun and joyful together, which made this session even more of a dream to photograph! I couldn’t be more obsessed with how these photos came out, I’m so excited to share them! But first, their love story!

Their Love Story

When I asked Nick & Emma to share one thing they love about each other, they gave the sweetest answers. Emma said, “I love how different he is from me. Nick is much more creative and entrepreneurial focused so he pushes me to think outside of the box. He is also fiercely loyal and supportive.” Nick said, “I love how uplifting and positive Emma is about everything in life.”

Where did their love story begin? Emma gave me the inside scoop, “After a few group happy hours through work (where we met) we went to dinner at an Italian restaurant across the street from my first apartment in Tribeca! I remember cracking up at dinner because he mopped up the extra sauce on his place with a piece of bread and I had never seen that before!”

The Proposal

Nick proposed on April 18th! Nick told me we had dinner plans with his good friend Gus and his girlfriend Charlotte. He laid the groundwork for weeks and told me that Gus was temporarily bringing his boat up to Hoboken for a month while we lived with Charlotte, and therefore would be taking us via boat to dinner at Battello. Looking back, not sure how I believed all of this but Nick talked about Gus’ plan with the boat and living with Charlotte for so long that I didn’t bat an eye! I also asked at the last minute to go to a Rose wine tasting at 12pm that same day and Nick said yes so we were definitely tipsy heading into the proposal! He proposed on the Hoboken waterfront, we went to dinner in NYC after, and then he coordinated my closest friends to meet us at a bar afterwards! The most important thing for Nick was keeping the proposal a surprise and he succeeded!

Fun fact: I had the joy of capturing this sweet proposal moment for these two! I was so excited that Nick had reached out when he was planning to propose! It was so special to be a part of! See more of their gorgeous springtime proposal here!
