Their Wedding Day: The Mill Lakeside Manor NJ Wedding
Christine & Connor’s The Mill Lakeside Manor NJ wedding was unforgettable! It was a rainy day on Memorial Day weekend in Spring Lake. The soft gray clouds added a softness to the environment that really allowed all the emotion, love, and excitement to shine on this day. Some of my favorite parts of the day included their first look & private vow exchange on the balcony, portraits in the hallway of the gorgeous ceremony building, and the absolute PARTY on the dance floor from the moment it opened! There were so many amazing moments to kick off the start to forever for these two! I have so many favorite photos to share! But first…their love story!
Their Love Story
When I asked Christine & Connor to share with me one thing they love about each other, they gave the sweetest answers. Christine said, “I love Connor’s sense of humor and that he has a heart for helping people. I love that he puts family first and values relationships.” Connor said, “Christine has a “magical kindness” that anyone lucky enough to know her can’t help but gravitate towards and be changed by.”
How They Met
Christine & Connor have such a sweet love story. Connor shared with me a bit about how they first started dating. He said “our first date I would say we were not ~technically dating~. We were still friends and we went for a hike together. I brought along a bag with a blanket to have a picnic at a resting spot along the trail. We were listening to worship music and were having a heart to heart when the most breathtaking sunset broke out of the clouds. Both of us were speechless for about 10 minutes and looking back we both know that was the moment we knew we were meant to be together.”
“When I asked Christine to be my girlfriend we went to the same spot of the hike mentioned above. I wrote her a whole 5 page love letter, complete with poems, song lyrics, and doodles in the margins. I held my breathe the whole time she was reading it and my heart nearly stopped until she finished and told me she felt the same.”
The Proposal
This special hiking spot brings their story full circle on the day Connor proposed! Connor set up a sweet walk down memory lane along the hiking path to that same spot from their first date. He told me he had “printed a bunch of photo collage boards and lined the trail with them. When we got to the spot, Christine knew what was happening, no surprises there! Afterwards, I had a surprise gathering of friends and family to celebrate with.”
