When I first heard of the Rising Tide Society, I was so beyond excited. I had been waiting for something like this to bring creatives together in the spirit of community over competition since I started my business. As the RTS marquee quote by JFK says, “A rising tide lifts all boats.” We are stronger when we work together than we are apart. By helping one another, we all benefit as individuals and an industry.
I stalked the RTS website after the first announcement of Tuesdays Together (a monthly gathering of local creatives to meet up and discuss the designated business topic of the month) waiting for one to appear in North Jersey. When it finally did I was beyond thrilled! I love our North Jersey group, led by the amazing Laura Neff. It’s filled with so many talented and kind-hearted creatives, who I’m so honored to now call my friends. Last Tuesday, we expanded our usual gathering with creatives coming in from all over the tri-state area! I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the this #TuesdaysTogether picnic bash! Enjoying great food, beautiful decorations, and bonding with fellow creatives over a few rounds of “speed-dating”, the event was awesome (although it got dark quicker than anticipated – haha!). Organized by a few of the area Tuesdays Together Leaders, this event was adorably styled, well planned, and so much fun to see old friends and make some new ones.
And I do have to brag for a second here….I am usually a horrible baker. And I really mean horrible…I can follow the directions to bake chocolate chip cookies, and still somehow fail miserably, ending up with really flat, burnt, or hard cookies. However, I was determined for this picnic to make Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies, ambitious I know. But I’m please to say I was successful, and they actually turned out delicious! 🙂
