I absolutely LOVE it when my couples choose a location that means something special to them for their engagement session! Last weekend I got to travel to University of Maryland, College Park for Jessie & Jason’s engagement shoot, and it was a blast! I had so much fun hanging out with them (and their adorable pup Mosby!!!) and seeing their old stomping grounds around campus. Jessie & Jason just radiate pure joy, and they are so clearly best friends. We all spent the entire shoot cracking up laughing and having the greatest time, and watching Mosby go crazy over all the squirrel friends he found on campus. And as if this session wasn’t already a dream, I also got to have the wonderful, Tori Kelner along with me to second shoot, and road trip down to Maryland with me! 🙂 Jessie happens to be Tori’s cousin, which is how I got connected with Jessie & Jason to begin with, so that just made it an extra sweet and special session to shoot!
University of Maryland is special to Jessie & Jason for many reasons. These two first met during their senior year of college when they were in the same class in the Journalism school. They were quick to become friends, and after a year of close friendship, they decided they were truly meant to be, and officially became more than friends. Because University of Maryland was where Jessie & Jason first met, Jason knew that it was also the perfect place to propose. Every year Jessie & Jason revisit their alma mater and do a football tailgate with all of their friends. As Jessie tells it, “we chose the date of our tailgate, November 11th, and without my knowing, Jason went to work to plan the perfect proposal, including making sure both of our parents were there. Our dog got a little cold, which was the perfect reason to go for a walk, which I suggested, which Jason thought was the best time!! So he and our parents walked to a special spot on campus where he proposed! Both of our siblings were on FaceTime and we were able to return to the tailgate to celebrate with all of our friends!” It doesn’t get any more special than that! 🙂
For date nights, these two love trying new restaurants and then coming home to snuggle on the couch with Mosby, or taking him on hikes in the warmer weather. I mean when you see this sweet lovable furball below (and his cute outfits) you’ll totally see why. 🙂
Thank you Jessie & Jason for such an awesome afternoon exploring the campus of University of Maryland! You guys are seriously the best! I cannot wait to celebrate your wedding day with you in 2019! <3
