Their Wedding Day: Waterloo Village

Lauren & Jordan’s Waterloo Village wedding day was so incredibly beautiful, and such a heartfelt celebration of everything that truly matters most: their love and commitment to each other! This joyful day was perfectly planned from start to finish. Lauren and Jordan were thoughtful about ways to ensure their guests felt safe (and festive) with customized face masks, hand sanitizer, and plenty of space to hang out and relax. They even live streamed their ceremony to make sure those who couldn’t physically attend, were able to celebrate with them virtually! Planning a wedding during a pandemic certainly isn’t easy. But Lauren and Jordan handled every challenge with grace and through it all, demonstrated perfectly what a great team they make together.

One of my favorite parts of their day would have to be the inclusion of their pup, Theo, as one of the ring bearers! I love it when furbabies get to be a part of a wedding day – it made the ceremony extra fun & special!

If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for meaningful wedding day details, so I thought it was so sweet that Jordan wore his grandfather’s cuff links, Lauren wore a bracelet from her grandmother, and their ceremony chuppah fabric consisted of Jordan’s Tallit from his bar mitzvah & Lauren’s grandmother’s tablecloth!

Lauren & Jordan are big music lovers, so of course their reception had the most amazing band! It was so fun working with The Metropolitan Players again! They rocked the music & entertainment in every part of the day, from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception!

Their Love Story

When I asked Lauren and Jordan to share with me one thing they love about each other, Lauren said, “I love how thoughtful Jordan is.” And Jordan said he loves, “Lauren’s delicious cooking!”

Lauren & Jordan’s typical date nights are all about food! Lauren said, “We love eating out and have our go to spots in our neighborhood and like to try new places too. If it’s not food, or not just food, date night also is likely to include music. We like seeing live shows and live near Prospect Park in Brooklyn so in the summer we’ll try to make a picnic in the park and listen to some free shows.” How’d it all get started? Keep on reading for more of their story!

How They Met

As Lauren tells it, “We met at work! We both were very early employees at a start up where we both actually still work. Our romance formed over mostly work related things in the beginning and then we started dating a few months after I started at the company. We tried to keep our relationship on the down low, but everyone at work likes to joke that they knew for months and we were terrible at keeping a secret. Now, we’re the token office couple and we get “shouted out” (aka slightly roasted) every year at our office holiday party. Needless to say our coworkers were almost as excited as our family and friends about our engagement :)”

The Proposal

Want to hear how Jordan popped the question? Lauren told me, “We got engaged in May and Jordan send me flowers to work that day. He had been traveling all week and he never sends flowers to work so I was a little suspicious. When I got home there was a picnic set up in our living room. Every year we go to the Newport Folk Festival and so he had our camp chairs set up with some snacks. He said that I probably would have killed him if he had waited til Newport (which is in July) to propose haha, so he brought a little bit of Newport to us. He also had some charcuterie out because I always say that all I need the rest of my life is a charcuterie board- its what I’d take to desert island. And he said all he needs the rest of his life is me 🙂 We drove out to Sag Harbor for the night and had dinner and stayed at a cute hotel and then spent the weekend visiting family. It was so nice!!”

How sweet is that? Seriously, these two are such a sweet couple and perfect match for each other. Talk about husband and wife dream team. 😉
