Carly and Nick are the kind of people you can spend all day laughing with. I absolutely adore these two and had so much fun taking their engagement photos at Cross Estate Gardens! They were up for running, jumping, playing in the golden sunset, and I couldn’t have asked for more! Not to mention they brought their sweet lovey pup, Zari with them, which if you know me, you know that makes my heart so happy! Furbabies are part of the family, and I think it’s so special when couples include them in their sessions!
These two have the sweetest things to say about each other, it seriously melts my heart! Carly said she adores Nick’s loyalty and patience and that his “sense of humor always has me laughing! And he thinks my crazy is funny.” Nick loves her weirdness, sense of humor, and that she has such a big heart! So cute that they have a mutual love for humor and the joys of life together!
I just had to know how they met and started dating, so Carly told me the deets! They started working for the same company on the exact same day in desks facing each other! They were actually assigned to work on a project together as the newbies, which they both had no idea how to do. Little did they know they’d end up falling in love. It took a couple months for them to figure out that they might have liked each other, but they had always thought the other was cute! She said, “Then one weekend in the summer, he invited me down to his shore house that he had with his friends. That weekend was the first time we kissed, then had to keep it a secret from all our coworkers. We are very close with our coworkers and all worked in the same room, so we’d routinely go for happy hours and we would make sure to walk alone together after to catch up and sneak a kiss. Then our first official date we went out in the city for a nice dinner and decided that it didn’t matter that we worked together there was definitely a strong connection and we knew we wanted to start dating.” What an adorable office romance that has resulted in such a beautiful love story!
And here’s how he popped the question!! “The proposal was so very special and Nick spent so much time and effort into planning it. He had told me we were getting dinner with friends in the city and that we would need to get on the 7:40 pm ferry. As a background, we ride the ferry to work every day together and have had a lot of sentimental moments riding it. It’s almost like a home away from home in a weird way, very comforting and peaceful. So that night, we were waiting in line for the ferry and it pulls up and he says “let’s sit in the back,” which I didn’t think was too weird as he usually likes to sit outside. The ferry boats on the weekend are much smaller so everyone usually sits inside and there are about 2 rows of seats outside, and when we walked out, I saw one other gentleman standing out there. We went to sit down and all the seats were soaked since it had rained about 2 hours prior. So I mentioned that my dress was going to get soaked if I sat down and he was like, “Oh, it’s ok, just put your sweater down,” which I thought was weird because usually, he’d be like “Oh, right then let’s go inside.” Then, I glance back over at the gentleman who I saw when I first walked out and noticed that he had a big camera with him, and sure enough, 3 seconds later Nick was turning me around and was down on one knee. The sun was setting, the Freedom Tower was in the background and it was so special, I wish I remembered everything he was saying!! We then went to the dinner he told me was going to be with friends, which actually was only for the two of us, and it was a beautiful restaurant overlooking the whole city.” How amazing and sentimental is that?! Obsessed with them!!!
Carly and Nick, you two have a love story for the books, seriously! It’s amazing to see how easily you make each other laugh and how beautiful your passion for one another is. Thank you so much for choosing me to document these special moments in your life – I am honored to know you two and call you my friends! Love you!!! <3
