Christmas tree farms are the perfect wintry engagement session location! Especially when cozy scarves, Starbucks coffee cups, and snow flurries are involved. 🙂 I loved this session! Morgan and Matt were hoping for some snow, so when we saw the flurries in the forecast, we decided to shoot in the morning in hopes of catching any of the snowfall! And although the snow was really light, we did catch a few of the flurries, and it made for the perfect little touch of winter sweetness.
Morgan explained that they met at a mutual college friend’s wedding on a Saturday. Matt remembers Morgan wearing a red dress, which she says doesn’t fit her anymore, but is still in her closet, because she doesn’t think she can ever get rid of it! They’d both come with a friend rather than date (Morgan with her good friend Catie, who was also a friend of the groom, and Matt with his good friend Sharo, who knew Morgan from college, and was in a fraternity with Matt and the groom). Sharo introduced Matt to Morgan that night, and she said, “We really hit it off the next day when we all went to the beach together. I insisted on everyone trying this weird minty coffee drink that Matt had bought at Wawa on the way to the beach…not knowing that Matt was a little bit of a germaphobe and it was killing him inside having everyone use his straw, but he didn’t say anything. I wanted to go in the water and no one else did, so Matt went in with me, and I threw a floating piece of styrofoam at him (again, not realizing that throwing a piece of floating garbage at him was like the worst thing I could do). We saw a barge floating way out in the ocean and for some reason started joking about swimming out to it and getting married on it. I friended Matt on Facebook on the way home, and he saw the request when he logged in to friend request her. We started Facebook chatting and talked the whole rest of the Sunday, into the night, and just kept going.”
They went on their first date a few days later to a bar and they planned on just getting quick drinks. However, they were enjoying talking so much that they went to another restaurant next door and got dinner. They chatted for hours and it just flowed. 🙂 Morgan says she loves how Matt makes her laugh so much and that “he’s really clever and always surprises me with a hilarious, witty comment.” Matt loves Morgan’s selflessness and how she always thinks about him before herself.
Morgan and Matt, thank you both for being the cutest snugglers and for chasing the snow with me for these adorable photos! You two have the kindest souls and are just so perfect together. I absolutely loved this festive session and hanging with you two to capture this beautiful time in your lives! Congratulations, so excited for you two!!! Love you! Xoxo
