Cullman, Alabama Engagement Session | Casey & Rob

Their Session:
Cullman, Alabama

I absolutely LOVE it when my couples bring me somewhere special to them for their sessions. I was ecstatic when Casey told me that she was thinking of taking engagement photos at her grandparents farm down in Cullman, Alabama! I’m always up for traveling somewhere new! So my girl Tori Kelner and I took a little trip down to Alabama for Casey & Rob’s engagement session, and we had the BEST time! The farm was absolutely beautiful with so many different areas to take photos! And Casey’s family was so warm and welcoming, I could’ve happily stayed a little longer in Alabama! 😉

We ended up with a rainy day for their session, but the weather didn’t even matter – these two crushed it! We had so much fun, and the rain only made their session more romantic in my opinion. (Eat your heart out Nicholas Sparks!) Casey & Rob also included their Dalmatian pup, Jenny, in their photos! If you know me, you know I get very excited when furbabies get to be a part of the shoot! Jenny was an angel model during our shoot, and looked so perfect in her little sweater! My heart!

At the end of our shoot we took a little detour to go to Ashley Mercantile, one of Casey’s favorite shop with all the cutest home decor and gifts! It was a perfect grand finale to take a few photos there…and maybe also go home with a few new souvenirs. 😉

Casey & Rob have the sweetest love story! Let me tell you more about these two!

Their Love Story

Casey & Rob met in 2016 at the end of her junior year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Her best friend from college, Corie, was presenting her research at Fort Bragg and Casey went along with her to the conference. Casey told me, “While we were at Fort Bragg I met Rob (yep, he’s in the Army) and since the day we met we haven’t gone a single day without talking to each other!  I know it sounds cheesy but I knew I could marry Rob after our first date! I remember calling Corie and telling her ‘his last name has the word “beer” in it — I could definitely get behind the name Casey Beery!'”

Want to hear how Rob proposed?! In Casey’s words, “The proposal felt like it took 100 years! Like I said, I knew from the first date I wanted to marry Rob so I was ready!  I had been bugging him about it for months and since we were doing long distance I was always ready to say “yes” every time I was with him! I’m also very attentive and notice every single change in behavior, so I told Rob if he wants it to be a surprise he was going to have to work really hard to surprise me! Well…he definitely surprised me…I am obsessed with the show Fixer Upper so me, my mom, my cousin, and my aunt went to Waco, Texas to the Magnolia Market over President’s Day weekend for a girls trip. We took a tour of Waco on “Waco Tours” and at one of the stops at the top a cliff called “Lovers Leap” Rob came around the corner and surprised me! He flew from Fort Benning, GA to Waco Texas without telling me!  He also flew down his mom and sister from NJ! I was DEFINITELY surprised! He did good!!” Are we kidding?! Rob knocked it out of the park with the proposal! So incredibly sweet!
