West Point Wedding, NY | Casey & Rob

Their Wedding Day: West Point Cadet Chapel & Thayer Hotel

Casey & Rob’s West Point wedding was an absolutely perfect day. With the most beautiful weather, and so much joy surrounding their love, it was so worth the wait! Casey and Rob had to postpone multiple times due to the pandemic, but they finally got their dream day! It was the best! And I loved getting to work with my videographer besties ToneMedia!! I’m so excited to see the highlight film they create from this day!!!

West Point was a meaningful location for the wedding because both of their parents also got married there. Casey said, “incorporating the tradition of the Academy and our families is super important to me.” When Casey first reached out to me, she described her day almost exactly how it ended up coming together. “I would say the style and theme is going to be somewhat formal with a sit down dinner, live band, and lots of flowers!  I want the color scheme to stay ivory, creams, whites, with some touches of mauve/blush pinks.  Magnolia’s are symbolic to me so I have fallen in love with magnolia leaves as a part of the centerpieces/overall decor. I want to tastefully incorporate some unique family touches like photographs, custom beer labels for cocktail hour, and fun farewell gifts as well!” Everything she described held true! (The custom beer labels were one of my *MANY* favorite details!)

Their Love Story

Casey & Rob met in 2016 at the end of Casey’s junior year at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her best friend from college was presenting research at Fort Bragg and Casey tagged along to the conference. Casey told me, “While we were at Fort Bragg I met Rob (yep, he’s in the Army) and since the day we met we haven’t gone a single day without talking to each other!  I know it sounds cheesy but I knew I could marry Rob after our first date!  I remember calling Corie and telling her “his last name has the word “beer” in it — I could definitely get behind the name Casey Beery!”

The Proposal

If you know me, you know I love a good proposal, thoughtful surprises, and the show Fixer Upper. This story has all of those things, so trust me, it’s a good one! Casey tells it best. She said, “The proposal felt like it took 100 years! Like I said, I knew from the first date I wanted to marry Rob so I was ready!  I had been bugging him about it for months and since we are doing long distance right now I was always ready to say “yes” every time I was with him! I’m also very attentive and notice every single change in behavior so I told Rob if he wants it to be a surprise he was going to have to work really hard to surprise me!”

“Well…he definitely surprised me…I am obsessed with the show Fixer Upper so me, my mom, my cousin, and my aunt went to Waco, Texas to the Magnolia Market over President’s Day weekend for a girls trip.  We took a tour of Waco on “Waco Tours” and at one of the stops at the top a cliff called “Lovers Leap” Rob came around the corner and surprised me!  He flew from Fort Benning GA to Waco Texas without telling me!  He also flew down his mom and sister from NJ!  I was DEFINITELY surprised!  He did good!!” How sweet is that story?!
