Their Session: Belmar Marina & Beach Engagement

Gina & Ryan’s Belmar marina & beach engagement session was a BLAST! These two are so much fun to photograph! We had the best time exploring the marina docks, running through the sand on the beach, and hanging out beneath the Belmar fishing club pier. I am so in love with this engagement session, and can’t wait to share some of my many favorites! But first, their love story…

Their Love Story

It all started back in college when these two met at the University of Delaware! Gina said, “We knew each other freshman year through mutual friends but didn’t interact much. At the beginning of sophomore year we invited him and his friends (my mutual friends) over to my apartment for a big pregame party we were having. I told my friends I thought he was cute. We hit it off that night- and then we dated for mostly the rest of sophomore year! We actually broke up that summer – which was hard because we knew we wanted to be together but it wasn’t the right timing. Then, during senior year we rekindled and have been together since!!”

When I asked these two to share one thing they love about each other, Gina said, “I love Ryan’s positive outlook on absolutely everything, he finds the good in every situation! He is well liked by everyone who meets him. Also his patience with me, and sense of humor.” Ryan said, “Gina is incredibly thoughtful and loving to me, her friends, and her family. She always puts others before herself and is an incredible friend. She’s loyal, loving, and passionate.” These two are perfect for each other.

The Proposal

Want to hear how Ryan popped the question!? It’s such a good story! As Gina tells it, “We live in NYC two buildings down from Gramercy Park. It was a Saturday last October and I thought I was going to dinner and then to see a Broadway show with my mom, sister, best friend and her mom. I had picked out an outfit and my friend even called the store to tell them I was getting engaged and not going to a show!”

“Ryan and I go to a dinner every end of October for his job, it’s the Hole in the Wall Gang camp for children with cancer. He works with the restaurant group who sponsors it. The dinner was that following Tuesday. He told me he had a happy hour event prior to the dinner at 5 pm on Saturday at the hotel next to our apartment and asked me to come before my dinner. Ryan got me downstairs to the hotel and asked for a woman who led us into Gramercy Park! He proposed in the park and then we took photos and he led me to a bar where all of our family and friends were waiting. It was amazing :)”

If that doesn’t sound like a perfect movie proposal I don’t know what does! These two are the sweetest, and Ryan did such an amazing job planning the perfect proposal!

It has a unique vibe with greenery in one room, a blue glass like room with a couch & decor, a big outdoor area for cocktails, etc. We want our wedding to be elegant with a touch of modern! We want to add lots of light florals and neutral colors & brightness!” Just wait til you see the photos! The vision was perfect! 🙂 But before we dive in, I have to share some of Gina & Ryan’s love story! (If you want to see more of Gina & Ryan, check out their Belmar engagement session blog post here!)
