Britt & Lawrence | Princeton Engagement Session

It makes my heart so happy when I get to reconnect with high school friends to shoot the milestones in their lives! Britt has always been such a sweet, kind-hearted person, and when I met Lawrence, I could see how perfect their personalities complimented one another. Their affection shines through in every way, and they were total naturals in front of the camera! When they came back home from Hawaii for a visit, we found a day to shoot their engagement photos in Princeton, NJ! Although it was incredibly cold, we ventured out onto the gorgeous Princeton University campus and surrounding town for some photos! These two were such champs in the cold! We warmed up and got some adorable shots in a coffee shop nearby, as well! I loved getting to spend so much time with Britt and Lawrence, you know, some people are worth freezing for (modified Frozen quote, anyone?)!

These two lovebirds met on Tinder about three years ago while Britt was about to start graduate school and Lawrence was stationed an hour away from her school, Syracuse. Britt said once they exchanged numbers she deleted Tinder, and the rest is history! They dated long distance for two years. Long distance relationships are never easy, and with Lawrence being in the military, it was a challenge they were both willing to face head on! After her graduation and his deployment, they moved to Hawaii together where they now happily live together with their puppy!! Brit says, “We are so blessed with the best friends, most loving families, and each other.” They love getting the chance to travel together or just spend some quality time at home with some comfort food and Netflix. Sounds like a dream to me! 😉

Okay, proposal time!! Listen to how absolutely adorable this one is: “Oh gosh, our story was perfect for us! Lawrence was scheduled to leave for flight school, and my birthday was the last, big day/celebration we would have together so I was hoping he would ask!!! As the day unfolded, I noticed that he was getting more nervous about silly things like my birthday cake, so I started getting suspicious and excited, like “maybe this is it!!!” We spent a beautiful night on a sunset cruise with our closest friends, my Nana & cousin were also there. We then headed to Maui Brewing company for games, dinner, and drinks with the whole group. Eventually it was almost time for cake! My friends had been saying let’s fix your hair, let’s go to the bathroom, all these things & I was like WHY. LOL. Needless to say, as the cake came out, everyone was singing & taking pictures. The cake didn’t have a proposal on it, so I was trying to not seem disappointed! BUT there was a second cake that I didn’t know about, in a heart shape with ring pops & the most perfect ring in the middle. I had always said I would say YES, even if he asked with ring pops. There was SO much love & tears & cheers & bubbly, I could only nod yes. It was so beautiful to be surrounded by people who love us & know us. We are over the moon!!!!! :)” Aren’t they the cutest?!

Britt and Lawrence, thank you for spending the day with me to celebrate your love and for bearing the cold for some of the sweetest shots ever. You two are amazing, and I’m so glad this passion of mine has reconnected us for such a special time in your lives!
