Central Park Engagement | Marisa & Michael

Their Session: Central Park, NYC

Marisa and Michael’s engagement session was one for the books! These two were up for literally any and everything – including taking a boat out in the lake for some photos! Heck yes! Adventurous couples make my heart so happy! Every time I shoot in Central Park there’s always something new to find in this iconic NYC location! The boats might be my new favorite, but we also explored all sorts of other beautiful spots throughout the park! It seems like there are truly ENDLESS stunning spots for photos in Central Park!

Marisa and Mike were so much fun to photograph, and just a joy to be around! I loved hanging out with these two and getting to know them even better! They have such a beautiful story, and their love for each other is so inspiring! Let me tell you some more about them!

Their Love Story

Marisa and Michael first met back in high school. Marisa was the new kid at school and was super nervous. Marisa said, “I guess I caught his eye and he wanted to introduce himself. He actually messaged me on MySpace! lol! We passed each other everyday during 3rd and 7th period, and we would meet up in the hallways to talk and reconnect. I’m getting butterflies just thinking about it! :)” How cute are they?!

These two grew up in the same town and lived near each other. For their official first date, they weren’t old enough to drive yet, so decided to meet halfway and walk to a nearby park. When they got to the park, Michael shared all about his memories as a child at the park with Marisa. They sat on a bench for hours just talking, and then shared their first kiss together that day. 🙂

Want to hear how Michael popped the question?? As Marisa tells it, “So Michael and I both grew up in Westwood, NJ being that we were best friends in high school there are so many memories between the two of us right in the very town. I come from a very big Italian family and he knows how much my friends and family mean to me. On December 22nd while I thought I was going to an early Christmas dinner with some friends in Westwood, we stopped in the center of Town along the way and as I looked up I saw balloons that said “will you marry me” under the gazebo. As we walked closer I noticed my family holding each balloon up. I was absolutely SHOCKED. It was so special to me that all of our friends and family members were present.” A+ job Michael! I love that story so much! I think it’s so special when friends and family get to be involved in the proposal and celebrating afterwards.

When I asked Marisa & Michael what they love about each other, Marisa said, “How thoughtful he is. Michael has to be the most thoughtful person I know. I love how he always try’s hard in everything he does. Especially with us. He always tries hard to grow and evolve and I love that he brings that out in me.” And Michael said, “what I love most about Marisa is her heart. We are best friends and I love that I can be my true and complete self around her.”
