Nicole & Jacob’s Clark’s Landing Yacht Club Wedding was a picture perfect day. Back when Nicole first reached out to me she described her vision for the day as a “coastal chic” black tie wedding. Clark’s Landing was the perfect location to fit the vibe and complimented all of the unique style elements Nicole & Jacob brought to their day.
I had the pleasure of photographing Nicole’s sister Lauren’s wedding in 2022, and that’s when I first met Nicole! I was so honored when she reached out after getting engaged. It’s truly one of my favorite things, getting to photograph events for members of the same family. It’s so sweet getting to share in the joy of multiple special occasions for the amazing families I get to work with.
Nicole has the most impeccable style – and it showed in her show-stopping, uniquely stunning wedding dress. I loved the nod to her fashion taste on display during getting ready: a framed sketch from her childhood notebook of a wedding dress. There are too many favorite moments and details from this day to recount, but luckily I’ve got many photos to share to highlight them all! But before we dive in, a little bit of their love story…
When I asked Nicole & Jacob to share one thing they love about each other, I loved their answers. Nicole said, “I love how Jacob lets me be my authentic quirky self. He is extremely thoughtful, patient, and goes with the flow.” Jacob said, “She has an unlimited amount of energy and a “go-get-it” attitude!”
Nicole & Jacob first met through mutual friends. Nicole told me, “Jacob was freshman year college roommates with one of my close childhood friends and over the next several years he got to know many more friends in our circle. While we’re convinced we probably crossed paths and met before, we “officially” met at the birthday party of Jacob’s college roommate and my childhood friend in 2019! We were at City Vineyard in NYC and got to talking at a bar. One thing led to another and we ended up going out on our first date at Aria Wine Bar in the West Village and it’s all history from there!”
I love a good surprise proposal, and Jacob totally caught Nicole off guard for this one. She said, “It was a COMPLETE surprise! Jacob proposed in the middle of one of our favorite spots in Central Park on the morning of what I thought was going to be a busy day with friends. Jacob even had a photographer hiding snapping pictures of the moment itself and then we had a little photoshoot throughout Central Park to get some more pictures. The rest of the day included lunch at Tavern on the Green, facetiming friends and family, and then dinner at Union Square Cafe. The next day was brunch at Loring Place with my family and his (who had flown in from Boston), followed by a surprise happy hour with a bunch of our friends. It was indeed a weekend full of surprises and it was perfect!”
Nicole & Jacob, thank you so much for having us as a part of your wedding day! What an incredible day that was filled with so much joy and laser-focused on what truly matters most: you two and your marriage! It was so beautiful to be a part of your start to forever, and we can’t wait to see all that this next chapter holds for you two! We love you guys! xoxo
