Their Session: Cross Estate Gardens

Cross Estate Gardens is one of my favorite locations for sessions! There is so much variety in gorgeous scenery! And it’s a dog friendly location! If you know me, you know it makes me so happy when my couples bring their furbabies to their sessions! I was so pumped when Gabby & Collin told me they would bring their sweet pup, Stella to their engagement shoot! Gabby and Collin are so filled with joy and laughter; they’re so fun to photograph! I can’t wait to share some of my many favorite photos! But first let me share some of their love story!

Their Love Story

When I asked Gabby and Collin to share one thing they love about each other, they gave such sweet answers. Collin said he loves, “how persistent Gabby is at trying to cheer me up, even when I’m having a bad day.” Gabby said she loves “how motivating Collin can be to be my best self, and support me in all my crazy endeavors.”

How They Met

Gabby and Collin first met in college, the week before their Junior year started! Gabby told me, “We went to the University of Delaware together and I was moving into a house with 5 girls in my sorority, who all happened to live on the same floor as him freshman year. We had a big party to start off the year, and he happened to come by with a few friends. What was funnier is that we had been to the same parties, had the same friends, but had never been introduced! We have been together ever since!” I love stories like that where people’s paths cross at exactly the right time.

The Proposal

You’ve got to hear how Collin proposed to Gabby! “In the most pandemic of ways, Collin actually had FOUR plans that all got cancelled! We were supposed to go to the Masters in April, and then again in November (Collin’s mom’s side of the family is from Augusta) and both of those plans were cancelled. He wanted to propose on my birthday in November, but the ring was delayed in shipping because of COVID, and then had rented a private boat that also got cancelled because of COVID.”

“SO by the time he actually proposed, I think he was sick of thinking of elaborate plans LOL! He told me that we were going to brunch that Saturday, and had a few friends waiting on our rooftop to surprise us after. We were getting ready to leave for “brunch” and he got on one knee in the kitchen! He said he couldn’t wait any longer, and when we went to the roof to “take pictures” a few of our friends were up there and surprised us with champagne and balloons to celebrate!”

Gabby & Collin

Gabby & Collin, thank you so much for having me be a part of this special season! You two (and sweet Stella!) are such a joy, and I couldn’t be more grateful for you! I can’t wait for you big day at Fiddler’s Elbow in just over a year, but until then, soak in every minute of being fiances!!! Sending the biggest hug your way! xoxo
