Echo Lake Country Club was the perfect backdrop for Eric and Elisa’s stunning wedding day! ELCC was more than just a venue for these two; Elisa’s parents are avid golfers and are members there, so they have personal relationships with the staff which is super special! And her older sister got married there 3 years ago, so they knew just how beautiful it is for a wedding!
One of my favorite details from their day was Elisa’s wedding band that was her grandmother’s wedding band! It has the date from her grandma’s wedding inscribed in it, which made it an extra special heirloom. I also absolutely loved working with my amazingly talented friends Paulina and TJ from Blue Jasmine who created a gorgeous flower crown (my favorite!!) for Elisa with the most perfect silk ribbons, and a beautiful bouquet with whimsical pieces that Elisa said reminded her of Vermont fields in the summertime. I love that Elisa & Eric included their furbabies in their wedding day!! It always makes me so happy when my couples include their dogs (and other animals) in the wedding day. :)))) Moose (one of their dogs) was there for Elisa’s getting ready, bridesmaids photos, and he was the ring bearer! He was so good during the ceremony and just laid down up at the altar of the church. So cute!!! They also had a “Our humans are married!” sign with pictures of their two dogs, bunny, and horse on display at the reception. And one of my favorites, they had a custom cake topper made for their gorgeous wedding cake that featured their two dogs, Moose (a shih tau) and Waffle (a chihuahua).
I seriously just love these two, they are so easygoing and fun to hang out with! Lucky to have clients like them who become friends. 🙂 Elisa told me more about hers and Eric’s love story! She said that their pups are heavily involved in mostly everything they do! She works as a dog groomer, so these two are clearly huuuge doggo lovers! We totally connected over our mutual love for our adorable pups!
Eric and Elisa met during their freshman year of high school when they were lab partners in Biology! They remained in the same circle of friends all 4 years. They were both extremely shy, though, so they never pursued dating, but they simply crushed on one another in silence! Eric asked her to senior prom, though – woo! Go Eric!!! About a year after high school, Elisa moved back to New Jersey, and they reconnected – they’ve been inseparable ever since!
She says, “He truly is my other half and makes every day special. We are both avid hikers, animal lovers, Disney fanatics, distance runners, adventurers & romantics… We even share the same initials! Our friends refer to us collectively as ‘EP Squared’ lol.” After 10+ years of friendship to dating, Elisa says she still finds herself falling more in love with him everyday!
Now let me tell you about their proposal!! It’s a good story!! 🙂 Eric treated Elisa to a week-long trip in Disney World. He had just graduated the Police Academy a couple of months prior and started his new job as a patrolman, so it was a celebratory and well-earned vacation! Eric, being the Disney vacation aficionado he is, planned our stay so that we could go to the Magic Kingdom on our very first full day there, which is Elisa’s favorite park! After a beautiful breakfast, they made their way towards Cinderella’s Castle to take some photos. In retrospect, she says, “Eric had been pretty quiet and acting a little strange since arriving in Florida. Before I knew what was happening, Eric was down on one knee asking me if I would spend the rest of my life with him <3 It took me a while to process what was happening, at first I thought he had tripped, but then I saw the box he was holding and the ring!! I think I stood there in shock for a good minute, simply nodding because I was unable to speak! A group of strangers ran up to us clapping and a round of fireworks went off… It was definitely a magical experience :)” How absolutely perfect are they?!
Elisa and Eric, thank you both so much for being so easy going and kind-hearted! I absolutely loved getting to see the places in Vermont that are special to you and getting to be their on your big day! I’m so happy for you two, and I can’t wait to see your love continue to grow!
