Elisa & Eric | Wilmington, Vermont Engagement Session

I can officially check Vermont off of my list of places to visit! We ventured to Wilmington, Vermont to shoot at the barn where Elisa rides her horse, Tuce! It was crazy cold but so incredibly beautiful that it made the frozen toes and chilly noses totally worth it! These two visit Vermont often and it’s a really special place to them, so it meant a lot to me to be able to visit a place with so much importance to them. The horses were so beautiful, and there was an incredible field of frosty tall grass and birch trees that looked so whimsical!! And it gets even better! Their adorable pups, Moose (the Shih Tzu) and Waffle (the Chihuahua), joined in on this perfect session, too! After the shoot, we went out on a double date and got Mexican food at one of Elisa & Eric’s favorite places. It was awesome. 🙂 Ryan and I made a nice little weekend adventure out of this trip and we loved getting to explore this gorgeous new place, pet the horses, and hang out with Elisa and Eric, of course!

I got connect with Elisa and Eric through my insanely talented florist friend, Paulina, of Blue Jasmine, and we immediately bonded over our love for dogs (Elisa is a dog groomer!), because, as we all know, Lily the Maltipoo is my little baby! When I asked about how they met, Elisa told me, “Eric and I met our freshman year of high school (we were lab partners in Biology) and remained in the same circle of friends all 4 years. We were both extremely shy though, so we never pursued dating, simply crushed on one another in silence- he did ask me to senior prom though! So thankfully we have some super cute (albeit adorably awkward) prom photos! About a year after high school, I moved back to New Jersey, and we reconnected- we’ve been inseparable ever since <3 He truly is my other half and makes every day special. We are both avid hikers, animal lovers, Disney fanatics, distance runners, adventurers & romantics… We even share the same initials! (our friends refer to us collectively as ‘EP Squared’ lol) Come this September we will have been dating for 6 years, and friends for 10! And somehow I find myself falling more in love with him every day (sappy I know, but true!)” Obsessed with their sweet story! 🙂

Being huge Disney fanatics is a common thread I am seeing among my couples; I adore that so many of them are such big dreamers and lovers of magic! 😉 This past May, Eric treated Elisa to a week-long trip in Disney World. He had just graduated the Police Academy a couple of months prior and started his new job as a patrolman, so it was a bit of a celebratory vacation! Eric, being the Disney vacation aficionado he is, planned their stay so that they could go to the Magic Kingdom on their first full day there, which is Elisa’s favorite park! After a beautiful breakfast, they made their way toward Cinderella’s Castle to take some photos. Elisa realized after-the-fact that Eric had been pretty quiet and acting a little strange since arriving in Florida! Before She knew what was happening, Eric was down on one knee asking her if she would spend the rest of her life with him. It took Elisa a while to process what was happening; at first she thought he had tripped! Then she saw the box he was holding and the ring inside! She said she stood there in shock for a good minute and could only nod because she was unable to speak. A group of strangers ran up to them clapping and a round of fireworks went off. Sounds like the most magical experience! 🙂 I am SO excited for their wedding next summer! Elisa and I share a love for the country lifestyle and rustic decor, so I just know their wedding day is going to be gorgeous!

Thank you, Elisa & Eric, for so many fun adventures and for bringing me outside of little New Jersey to see the beauty of Vermont! You two are amazing! <3
