Their Wedding Day: Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club Wedding
I couldn’t be more excited to share Lara & Matt’s wedding day at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club! This day was so much fun! There was rain in the forecast, but it held out for us for all the portraits! Before the ceremony a little bit of rain rolled back in, but it stopped just in time for Lara to walk down the aisle in their outdoor ceremony. It was perfect.
Back when Lara first reached out to me, she described their vision for their wedding day. She said, “The thing we want the most is for everyone to have FUN. I think as far as theme we want to make sure there are a lot of details that highlight who we are as a couple and just want it to be a beautiful, romantic celebration of our relationship.” Their wedding day was all of that and more! The gorgeous, thoughtful details, incredible dance party, and espresso martinis galore were unforgettable! All of Lara & Matt’s guests had the best time celebrating alongside them!
Before I dive into all my favorite photos, I’ve gotta share a little bit of Lara & Matt’s love story!
Their Love Story
As Lara tells it, “We met the old fashion way (a dating app) about 5 years ago. We live in NYC together and the city really is the backdrop to a lot of our story, including where Matt proposed (Washington Square Park!).”
Their proposal story is a sweet one! Lara told me more about that day at Washington Square Park. “We had just gotten back from a weekend in Montauk with friends and Matt suggested randomly on a Tuesday whether we should get dinner on Friday and that he would make the reservation. I wasn’t suspicious, however, because we often go out to dinner on Friday nights when we are in the city (I probably should have been though because I usually make the reservations). We went to our local wine bar which is an after work tradition every Friday and Matt suggested we take a walk through Washington Square Park since we had a little time before dinner and then he proposed! We walked to the restaurant and I was surprised again when both of our families were at the table.”
When I asked these two to share with me one thing they love about each other, they gave great answers. Matt said, “I love her cheery disposition, radiant smile, and infectious positive attitude.” Lara said, “I love his practical thinking and calming, comforting nature.”
