Their Wedding Day: Grand Cascades Lodge Wedding

Krista & Mathew’s Grand Cascades Lodge wedding day was long awaited, and SO worth the wait! Due to the pandemic, Krista and Mathew had postponed their big day, while still making it official with a small backyard ceremony last year. Finally getting to celebrate these two and their love with all their family and friends was so incredibly special.

It’s always a joy when I get to work with some of my favorites, especially my bestie Michelle Elise Artistry! Michelle is so talented, and everyone was glammed to perfection!!

No rain or cold weather could put a damper on this day! Everyone was overjoyed to be present celebrating Krista & Mathew’s marriage. It was a perfect day and I couldn’t be more excited to share my favorite images! But first, you know I gotta share a little bit of Krista & Mathew’s love story!

Their Love Story

When I asked Krista & Mathew to share with me one thing they love about each other they gave the sweetest answers. Krista said she loves that, “he is always there for me and will do anything for me.” Mathew said he loves that, “Krista always does the right thing and supports me & pushes me.”

How They Met

Krista and Mathew first met on their college swim team at Cortland. Krista told me, “Mathew is from New Paltz, New York and I am from Staten Island. We met and were friends for a year before we starting dating. We’ve been together ever since! We live together on Staten Island and love every minute of it.” I love that these two are college sweethearts and that because the swim team played a crucial role in their relationship, they had their swim coach officiate their wedding ceremony! (Both at the big wedding & their minimony!) How special is that?!

The Proposal

4 years ago, my brother got married on New Year’s Eve. This started our tradition of traveling for spending NYE with family. We got a group of 12-15 cousins/family friends together and each NYE we travel to a new place to spend the new year. We did Toronto, Charleston, and last year, Nashville. With my 3 brothers, 2 sister in-laws, and 7 cousins all around me on a Nashville rooftop bar, Mathew got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was SHOCKED and so grateful that my family was there with us. We then got to go into our NYE celebrations as an engaged couple and It was the best start to the new year!

To the Newlyweds
