Their Session:
Asbury Park In-Home & Greenhouse Engagement

In-home sessions are always so much fun! I love getting to photograph couples in a space that not only means a lot to them, but also feels like them. It’s always a blast, and makes the session extra special. : ) I was so pumped when Tara told me they were down for taking photos in their gorgeous Asbury Park apartment! We also went to a local nearby greenhouse, Barlow’s, to take some photos with a garden vibe!

These two were so fun to photograph, and all in for any crazy ideas I threw their way! We had a blast together, and I am so pumped to share all their photos! But first, let me tell you a little more about their love story!

Their Love Story

When I asked Tara about how she and John met, she told me their story. She said, “We met at a Memorial Day house party when I was meeting a friend for a quick hello. Thought he was super cute and offered to drive him to his next spot so he didn’t need to call a cab. I gave him and his friend a ride and he said bye and got out! Haha. Instead of going home I go to grab a drink at the next closest bar with a friend. He shows up! I go up and ask him why he didn’t ask me for my number, instead he asked me on a date the next day. We went for lunch mini golf and taco date and the rest is history :).”

Now you have got to hear how John proposed! Tara tells it best, “He told me we were getting dinner with his cousin and his wife on thanksgiving eve. (Always a night we celebrate) excited cause we never double date with them. We have a set time and place at la dolce vita in Belmar. It’s the coldest day EVER something like 10 degrees. We get to the restaurant which is in front on the boardwalk and he says let’s look at the moon. I said sure (thought it was odd since it was so cold, but okay) we look at the super moon that night on the boardwalk, which was beautiful, his heart was literally racing. I even questioned if he was okay or if he had just had coffee. He told me he loved me and wanted to travel and explore every part of the world with me then proposed. A photographer then popped out from the beach in the dark and captured all the entire moment! It was very thoughtful since he is not a picture guy. Champagne was poured with celebrating all weekend long.” How sweet are these two?? Seriously!

Tara & John

Tara & John, you two are the sweetest, and I’m so grateful to be able to capture this special season of your story! I cannot wait to celebrate your marriage with you in Spring Lake in a few short weeks! Enjoy this last home stretch of time being fiances!! xoxo
