Their Session:
Lake Mohawk & Perona Farms
If you know me, you know that I LOVE when furbabies get to be a part of a session! It always makes my heart so happy. Stephanie & Tom brought their sweet pup, Sadie, along for the shoot, and we had a blast!! We did their engagement session on some of the grounds at Perona Farms (where they’ll be getting married next year), and the nearby Lake Mohawk! I had way too much fun hanging out with these two and their pup! I can’t wait to share all their photos, but first let’s dive into their love story!
Their Love Story
Stephanie & Tom had their first date in October 2018. They went for drinks at a restaurant and it turned into almost 3 hours! Stephanie said that she knew pretty much right away that Tom was the one for her. Especially when Tom fell in love with Stephanie’s furbaby golden retriever, Sadie. The three of them have been inseparable ever since.
You’ve gotta hear how Tom proposed! Stephanie told me, “My whole family (parents, 2 sisters, and 3 nieces) all went into NYC for the day to see the tree and see the Rockefeller Rockettes. We all took turns taking pictures in front of the tree. When it was our turn, Tom got down on one knee and proposed! It was so special to have my family there to witness and celebrate with us. Only my Mom and Dad knew and kept it a secret from the rest of the family. We then spent the rest of the day celebrating and enjoying the special day together.”
I always love to ask my couples what their ideal date nights look like. Stephanie said, “I always say that we are meant to be because we are 80 year olds disguised in 30 year old bodies haha. A typical date night includes cooking, a bottle of Malbec, a movie that usually takes forever for us to decide on, and snuggles with our Sadie girl.” Sounds like a picture perfect date night to me!
I also asked these two to share one thing they love about each other. Stephanie said she loves that, “I can completely be myself around him. So lucky to find someone just as weird as I am. He’s my best friend.” Tom said, “Stephanie is literally always caring about how I feel and trying to make me happy (most of the time).” I can’t get enough of these two, and how sweet they are together!
