Manasquan, NJ Beach Engagement Session | Kristin & Ryan

Their Session:
Manasquan Beach

Although you won’t typically find me hanging out at the shore for a beach day, I LOVE shooting at the beach. There’s just something about the scenery that the beach offers that makes any session dreamy. Kristin & Ryan’s engagement session at Manasquan Beach was SO much fun! I absolutely adore these two and had a BLAST photographing them!

We started off their session on the beach and the gorgeous rock jetty! These two were up for all my crazy ideas, climbing all over the rocks and were down for anything! My couples are seriously the best. 🙂 After adventuring on the beach, we went to a super special dock! This was the exact spot where Ryan asked Kristin to marry him! Sunsets are kinda their thing, and we got the most PERFECT one setting over the dock on the day of their shoot! I love when couples choose a location that matters to them and is significant to their relationship and their story.

I loved that they brought flowers, a cute blanket, and a little champagne to toast with! There was nothing about this shoot that I didn’t love and I’m so pumped to share all these photos with you! 🙂 But first, I gotta tell you about Kristin and Ryan and their incredible love story!

Their Love Story

Kristin and Ryan’s story is one for the books! As Kristin tells their story: “Ryan and I met over ten years ago through mutual friends. After I graduated high school I went off to college, but I really didn’t like the school I started off in. I found myself coming home every weekend hanging out with a big group of friends, including Ryan. One specific night we all decided to do a night in the city and I think from that night on we have pretty much been inseparable. I came back home the next year and took some classes at the community college near home that next year, and it honestly really started to get serious after we took a public speaking class together – what an icebreaker! Since then I have been 1-3 hours from home finishing up schooling and he has come to visit me just about every weekend, despite being in graduate school himself. He truly is the sweetest and most selfless person.”

If you’re like me and can’t get enough of proposal stories, you’re gonna love this one too! Kristin shared with me about the proposal: “Since the beginning of our relationship 7 years ago, our favorite thing to do together has been watching the sunset. We have gone to so many different places to find the perfect sunset, but the absolute best spot was the end of the dock at a beach nearby. While we were on our way to dinner, Ryan suggested that we stop to there to catch the sunset. We walked up to the dock – to by far one of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve seen together – and after taking in the moment for a minute he started to take a picture of me looking into the horizon, as he always did. Soon after I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to find him kneeling on one knee, with the most beautiful ring in his hand. He asked me to marry him, and obviously I said yes!!”.  How perfect is that?!? AND with a beautiful sunset just for them, can you dream up a better proposal?! Ryan knocked this one out of the park!

I asked them to share one thing they love about each other, and Ryan said: “How much fun we always have together! We are best friends and are always laughing together. We just love always being together and there is no filter whatsoever”. Kristen said: “To be honest, we are polar opposites, but I really think we compliment each other really well. My favorite thing is that we have so much fun together and are always laughing. Also, he has made me realize that in life it’s important to stop and appreciate the beauty in life. From the beginning of our relationship, he would always point out how beautiful the sky was and would take me to so many places to get the best view of the sunset. He’s truly the sweetest person I’ve ever met, and I know that he will always and forever to anything to make me smile”.
