Their Session: Mantoloking Beach Engagement Session
Lara & Matt’s Mantoloking Beach engagement session was a DREAM! These two are so much fun to photograph! It makes me so happy when my couples totally trust me and all my crazy posing ideas, and just have FUN with their session. And that’s exactly what Lara & Matt did. They radiate so much joy, and are just a blast to hang out with. It was so sweet to get to photograph this part of their love story. I can’t wait to share my MANY favorites from our shoot! But first…their love story!
Their Love Story
When I asked Lara & Matt to share with me one thing they love about each other, they gave such sweet answers. Lara said she loves Matt’s “practical thinking and calming / comforting nature.” Matt said, “I love her cheery disposition, radiant smile, and infectious positive attitude.”
Lara told a little synopsis of their love story, “We met the old fashion way (a dating app) about 5 years ago. We live in NYC together and the city really is the backdrop to a lot of our story, including where Matt proposed (Washington Square Park!).”
The Proposal
You’ve got to hear how Matt popped the question at Washington Square Park! It’s such a sweet story. Lara tells it best. She said, “We had just gotten back from a weekend in Montauk with friends and Matt suggested randomly on a Tuesday whether we should get dinner on Friday and that he would make the reservation. I wasn’t suspicious, however, because we often go out to dinner on Friday nights when we are in the city (I probably should have been though because I usually make the reservations). We went to our local wine bar which is an after work tradition every Friday and Matt suggested we take a walk through Washington Square Park since we had a little time before dinner and then he proposed! We walked to the restaurant and I was surprised again when both of our families were at the table.”
When I asked what they loved most about being engaged, Lara said, “Making our commitment to each other more official, talking about our future together, getting excited about our wedding, and celebrating with family & friends.”
