Their Session: Princeton University Campus
Ashley & Tyler’s engagement session at Princeton University was SO much fun! These two are up for anything, and we had such a blast exploring the gorgeous campus and taking tons of photos! They brought their sweet pup, Sammy, along to be a part of the session, too, which made my day! 🙂 I can’t wait to share some of my favorite shots from their session, but first let me tell you a little more about their story!
Their Love Story
When I asked Ashley & Tyler to share one thing that they love about each other, Tyler said, “No matter how much of a pain I can be Ashley is always there for me and is always my biggest supporter.” And Ashley said, “Tyler is my absolute best friend. He continuously pushes me to be the best version of myself.” These two are so perfect for each other, and have such a sweet love story!
How They Met
Ashley & Tyler are high school sweethearts that met through a mutual friend. As Ashley tells it, “We started talking and he asked me to go to junior prom with him! He then asked me to be his girlfriend by getting my favorite dessert (the triple chocolate meltdown from Applebee’s). That was the moment I knew he was a keeper, lol!” Immediately after high school, Tyler left for the military to begin his 6 years of service in the army. Ashley told me, “Long distance was very difficult but we knew from the BEGINNING that we would do anything to make it work! With Tyler being in the military, he was stationed all over the place! In 2017, he was relocated to Fort Campbell, Kentucky which was actually the closest location yet! I graduated college in 2017 and decided to go out there and stay with him! We got our first house together there.”
The Proposal
Want to hear how Tyler popped the question? Ashley told me, “He proposed on June 2, 2017 right before he left for ranger school. Tyler is back home now so we can finally start planning the wedding of our dreams! He proposed in our empty living room the first night we stayed at the house together! It was so sweet and special and a total surprise!! For us the best thing about being engaged is that we know we are finally going to be taking that next step together. We have been together since 2012 and we knew we would be getting married for awhile now but it always just seemed like a distant future dream. We have always been there for each other, but now it feels like we are an official team.”
