THEIR SESSION: FAIRMOUNT PARK, RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Cassie & John’s Southern California engagement session in Fairmount Park was a DREAM! This gorgeous location in Riverside, California has so many portrait locations – the beautiful lake, mountainous backdrops, winding paths, and towering palms makes this park a perfect SoCal engagement session location! I loved spending the evening exploring with Cassie & John and documenting their love! They brought their electric skateboards as a fun prop for the shoot because they have a hobby of riding them around the neighborhood and spending time outside. It was the PERFECT addition to their session, and added a fun activity and super cool vibe for their photos! I’m always down for incorporating some fun personality into a session by way of hobbies and activities my couples love! 🙂
Before we get into some of my many favorite images from the session, first let me share some more of Cassie & John’s love story with you!
THEIR LOVE STORY
I asked Cassie & John to share one thing they love about each other and Cassie said, “One thing I love about John is his honesty, I LOVE how much I can trust him. I love never feeling insecure about my relationship.” John said, “Cassie has always accepted me for me, I’ve never had to try and be someone I’m not. In doing so, she has always made me feel good about me being myself. I never felt the need to impress her. I’ve always felt loved by her.”
How They Met
Cassie and John have such a great story, and I love the way that Cassie tells it. She told me, “John and I are a true testament to the saying “Timing is everything”. John and I have crossed paths (before dating) more time then I can count. We had the same mutual friend group, we even shopped at the same grocery store and probably even took our kids on the same hiking paths. I remember seeing him 10+ years ago and thinking how sweet his smile was and being so intrigued by him. However, at that time him and I were incredibly unavailable. We were both in relationships…unhappy relationships.”
“Fast forward to many many years later after a few failed relationships and a few frustrating dates with other people.. our paths crossed again. Except this time THE TIMING WAS PERFECT. From our first date on we have been inseparable. We have a big blended family that we love. He has three kids and I have one, and we are hoping after marriage to add one more angel baby to the fam.”
The Proposal
These two are so perfect for each other, and have made such a beautiful family together. Want to hear how John popped the question? I know you do. 🙂 Keep reading! As Cassie tells it, “On July 5th 2020 our family took a camping trip to San Diego. The first day we got there John took me to the sand at sunset and proposed to me in front of our kids. He had his GoPro set up and recorded it all. I love this video so so much! The kids were also so happy to be apart of it!” I think it’s so sweet that their kids got to be part of the proposal and celebrate in the start of this new season!
