Sandy Hook, NJ Engagement Session | Christina & Anthony

Sometimes, best friends just know best! Christina’s best friend had been saying for months that her fiancé’s best friend would be a perfect fit for Christina, but Christina had never given it too much thought! At her best friend’s birthday party, they finally met. Their chemistry was instant in that little Hoboken bar and dating followed soon after! While Christina lived in New York City and Anthony worked there, they would meet up for dinner dates, which has become their favorite thing to do together! Preferably anywhere with spicy margaritas! 😉

Anthony had planned a special weekend for the two of them, and while he told Christina to keep those dates free, he wouldn’t reveal any other details! After having conversations about engagement and marriage many times before, they both knew they were serious about one another, but Christina never quite knew when the big question was coming! She told me all of the details: “When the day arrived, he told me were spending the day in NYC and that he had gotten us an AirBandB in a high rise overlooking the whole city. Since I had moved back to New Jersey, we weren’t spending much time in the city, and he wanted to plan a day reminiscing of our early dating days. As soon as we checked in, I was looking around the apartment and admiring the gorgeous view. Anthony was behind me and said ” So I have a question to ask you ..”. When I turned around he was standing with an open jewelry box. We laughed and cried and told each other mushy things! He had a whole day planned of going to brunch, having coffee and crepes at Eataly, and then going to dinner with a Jazz show (we both visited New Orleans together and fell in love with jazz music).” How sweet! I love that Anthony made a point to incorporate their love story into the proposal by taking her back to where it all began!

I was already seriously so in love with these two just through our emails, but then came time for the engagement session, and boy, they wow-ed me! We spent the evening with soaking in the warm ocean breeeze at Sandy Hook. Christina’s mom and sister came along and helped to create the most incredible picnic set up that included bread, wine, adorable lanterns and pillows! Uhhh, YES PLEASE! Give me alllll the lanterns and beachy vibes! Christina and Anthony are so much fun to spend time with, and I loved that they chose this location for their session – it has so many different areas to shoot in from the beach to the rustic weathered buildings to the incredible view of the town up on the hill! The hill was our last stop and the perfect end to their engagement session; we caught all of the pretty lights starting to come on as the sun started to set!

One special note, Christina had done her bridal trial that day, so she came with her hair and make up done by the talented Michelle Elise Artistry! I think this is such an amazing idea for all brides to consider, because you get to test out your wedding day hair and makeup and also look absolutely stunning for your engagement session – it’s a win-win! 🙂 Christina and Anthony, thank you for bringing so many smiles to my face and for adventuring this amazing location with me! You two are up for anything, and as a photographer, I couldn’t ask for more! Your wedding day is going to be one for the books, but for now, enjoy this time together as fiancés and take it all in! Love you two, hope you love all the sweetness in these photos! Xoxo
