Seaport NYC Engagement Session | Sarah & Steve

Their Session: Seaport NY

Sarah & Steve’s engagement session at Seaport, NY was a BLAST! These two are so much fun! Their laughter and smiles are so contagious, and they have such fun-loving spirits! This engagement session was one for the books! Seaport is nearby to Sarah & Steve’s apartment, so it’s an area they love to spend time in! I’m a big fan of couples choosing session locations that hold meaning for them, so I thought Seaport made for an extra special choice! 🙂 Before we dive into all the photos, I wanted to share a little more about Sarah & Steve’s story!

Their Love Story

When I asked these two to share one thing they love about each other, Sarah said, “I love how patient Steve is and yet he’s extremely personable and hilarious. He calms me down 🙂 but there’s never a dull moment.” Steve said, “I love Sarah’s personality and how she’s never cranky” (said with sarcasm! lol)

Sarah & Steve are pretty laid back and love spending date nights enjoying some good pasta on the couch, and watching Netflix. 🙂 They love beach days that end with a glass of wine, and both love to dance! Their a perfect fit for each other. How’d their story begin? Sarah tells it best.

How They Met

Sarah told me, “Steve’s brother, Mike, and I actually went to Penn State together and were good college friends. However, I had never met Steve before. Summer 2016, I was down the shore and meeting up with some of my girlfriends who were staying in Steve & Mike’s share house. Just like that, Steve and I met at Bar A, had a few drinks, and a few weeks later were dating. Who knew you could find love at the Jersey Shore!”

The Proposal

You’ve gotta hear how Steve popped the question! 🙂 Sarah gave me all the details, “After [Steve’s brother] Mike and [his fiancée] Nicole were engaged last March, I had an idea that Steve would be proposing this summer and we were pretty open about the topic. However, I was convinced it would either be in NYC (where we live) or down at the beach. Steve and my parents were committed to surprising me (which isn’t easy to do!). We had a family vacation scheduled in July with my parents and sister down in the Caribbean at Curacao (Dutch island by Aruba). And just like that, he popped the question! The biggest surprise, his parents were also there! All of which I did not foresee since I never thought he would propose without his family around. We then got to celebrate with all our friends and family once returning home.”

When I asked Sarah about their favorite part of being engaged she said, “Honestly, not much has changed between Steve and I once getting engaged! We’ve been living together for over a year and have always been open about spending our lives together. Right now the best part is that Steve’s brother and many of our close friends are also engaged! So we’ve really enjoyed going through this journey with everyone and having a bunch of reasons to celebrate!” I love that! So much joy and so much to celebrate!!
