Their Session: Stone Harbor Engagement Session
Shannon & Chandler’s Stone Harbor engagement session was so much fun! These two are a blast and always down for a fun adventure or a little friendly competition! Let’s just say bananagrams, whiffle ball, and pillow fights were a staple for this sesh! 😉 Shannon’s parents have the most beautiful beach house in Stone Harbor that made for the perfect in-home engagement session photos, followed by pictures on the gorgeous beach! This session was so memorable and special, and I cannot wait to share these photos! But first…their love story!!
Their Love Story
Okay, you have GOT to hear how these two met! Shannon told me, “We went to Syracuse University and as part of their abroad program you do a 1 week pre-program where you travel to many different cities through Europe. Chandler and I met in JFK airport the first day of that program. The first night of our program we spent in Hiedlburg, Germany. Chandler didn’t bring enough money out to dinner with him so I lent him money for the rest of the evening. That is how we met and started talking! Our relationship started out, as many do, very casually but our friendship grew stronger over the 5 months we spent traveling together. I would say our relationship is built on friendship first and everything else followed that naturally. By the time we returned to New York we were inseparable and have been since.”
Shannon & Chandler love having fun date days exploring, hiking or visiting breweries, or enjoying date nights in ordering sushi, making fun cocktails and playing games or watching movies in their apartment together! (I love this and think it helped make the in-home part of their engagement session feel very “them”!)
When I asked these two to share one thing they love about each other, Shannon said, “I love how dedicated Chandler is. When he sets his mind on anything he puts his whole heart into it. It inspires me everyday.” Chandler said he loves, “how Shannon sees the positive in every situation.”
The Proposal
I love a good proposal story, and Shannon & Chandler’s is such a special one! I’ll let Shannon tell the story! She says, “Chandler and I start most of our Saturday mornings with coffee and a long walk, so when we left that morning nothing seemed that different. Along our walk we ended up in Liberty State Park where Chandler proposed with the New York City skyscape behind us. We got engaged the day before we left to see our families which was the most perfect part. We got to spend the day just with each other and enjoying the moment, then we got to travel to see and celebrate with each of our families.” It doesn’t get any more perfect than that! 🙂
