Their Session: Medford Lakes, NJ
Medford Lakes is close to my hometown in South Jersey, so I was SUPER pumped when Kellie told me she was thinking about Medford Lakes for her and Michael’s engagement photos. They chose this location for their session because Michael had proposed to Kellie right in Medford Lakes! I love when couples chose a location that is significant to their love story! 🙂
It was the perfect backdrop for their session – I absolutely loved the beautiful lake scenery, the vibrant colors of the woods, AND the fact that Michael brought his CANOE!!! Yep, we got to take canoe photos! How fun is that!?
Kellie and Michael are just the BEST to work with! Their fun, ready-for-anything personalities make my photographer heart so happy! Before we dive into all the photos, I just HAVE to tell you about their story!
Their Love Story
Kellie & Michael had gone to college together and both spent a lot of time at the gym. Each noticed the other, but went some time without saying even a word. FINALLY months later, one day, Michael took the first step. He approached Kellie at the gym and introduced himself, explaining he’d wanted to talk to her for the longest! Kellie told him that she’d been wanting the same thing! Kellie told me, “We starting hanging out and shortly after, started dating and it was an instant connection.”
When I asked them to describe their perfect Saturday Kellie told me, “A perfect Saturday together would be going out for breakfast. Going to the beach or relaxing by the pool. Going to the boardwalk in the afternoon and walking around playing games. We love to play mini golf, we are both very competitive so we always have a fun time with that. And to end the night we normally get some ice cream or Italian ice 🙂 we do this almost every weekend in the summer and we always have fun.”
I asked Kellie and Michael if they could tell me what they love about each other. Michael said, “I love her eyes, that’s what I fell in love with. She has a caring heart.” Kellie said, “I love how sweet and patient he is and very caring. Also, how amazing he is at his job and how hard he works!”
